This is not a joke. It is a true story. I was there when it happened.
Where I come from it is illegal to hunt on Sunday. I have a buddy that does not exactly adhere to that law. He was out rabbit hunting one Sunday and the game warden caught him and wrote him a citation.
His gun was confiscated and he had to report to a local magistrate a few days later. He plead guilty and was fined $87 and court cost. He paid right then and there then wanted to know if he could ask the magistrate a question.
His request was granted which is as follows.
"Sir, have I paid all the fines for this that you can give me today?"
The magsitrate told him that he had.
He then ask again. "Now are you sure that there is nothing else you can do to me for breaking this law?"
The magistrate said, " Mister I told you we are all squared up and you are free and clear of this court."
My buddy then said, "Well I would like to thank you for giving me such a good deal." The way I have it figured, it cost me less that a dollar a day for each Sunday I have ever hunted on."
