FC HILLBILLY BANJO PASSES AWAY

Post by Wilson »

I just wanted to let everyone know that BANJO passed away last saturday. I did not owm him for a long period of time but had gotten very attached to him. He was a awesome hound that is missed more than I can say. I did get lucky enough to breed a nice ACE IN THE WHOLE female to him. She is due any day I sure hope she has a nice litter with a male that looks just like he did. I will name him BANJO II.

Yes that is him. I took him to the vet and they kept him. He just wasn't acting right to me. They did some tests, called me and said his kidneys were shutting down. He passed away that night. I sure do miss him.

Wilson - I'm truly sorry to hear this. I remember when he was up for sale recently, I thought about buying him. I never got to see him run, but heard he was the cats meow.

I'm sorry to hear that.

I had the privilege of running against him in many trials for HOY in the midwest for 2 years. We ended up 1 and 2 in '04 but he always was one step ahead of my dog. I loved watching those 2 compete. Banjo could really turn it on at times and just take over. Banjo really was a good one.

Sorry about your loss Wilson.I had the pleasure of watching him in a trial once at Berea.I went to watch another dog and he was in his pack.I didn't even know Banjo .Me and a Buddy watched them run a rabbit down beside where we was standing. Here came the pack with two dogs in front. The dog i went to watch was almost touching this front dog.The dogs where pushing that rabbit ,these two dogs over shot around 15 feet.Banjo came back to point of lost and grabbed that check and was gone.I told my buddy i didn't know that dog ,but that day he was carrying the mail.We went down where the fellows was talking about that race.I told them i didn't know which dog or owner was but that dog right there was the one carrying that race. That's when i knowed it was Paul Cox's dog.Banjo made and impression on me that day with how he was running that rabbit .

may not be any of my bussiness but i was talking to a guy tonight and he brought up an interesting point and said i should post it and see what you all think, banjo is the second "big name" dog in a week now to die of something that any half a$$ vet could have diagnosed in a heartbeat, makes you wonder IF these sick dogs where dumped off on these guys knowing they could die any day?

neither i nor my buddy are accusing anyone of anything, but if i had bought a high dollar dog and it died of kidney failure,or stomach cancer in 2 or 3 months of me buying it,i would nose around, find out what vet the previous owner used, and IF i found out the owner knew the dog was sick,i would get proof and someone would cough up soe cash or they would be in court with the quickness.

If I was going to fork over a bunch of money for a dog, I would spend a little extra to have it vet checked within say 48 hours after buying it.

Thats what I did. I agree w/ danny though. Vets might not catch everything, but they could sure ease my soul spending that kind of $.

danny vansickle, while you put a disclaimer in your post that you weren't accusing anyone of anything you sure post alot of crap about conspiracies without one shred of fact in anything you say. You post that someone poisoned your dog Dozer but never backed that up with any evidence or facts, then you have pups dieing and blame that on vaccines, again no facts, but now you've gone over the edge with this post.

I know both Paul Cox Sr and Jr and they are some of the best people I've ever known. They will tell you how they see it and have the integrity to back up what they say. They would bend over backwards to help another beagler. There were things that happened in Banjos life that you are obviously not aware of. Most would have given up on him early because of what happened but because of the heart in that dog and the people who owned him he ended up a FC.

You say you aren't accusing anyone of anything, then why did you chose to post this on a thread about Banjo?

By the way, I ain't accusing anyone of nothing here.

He didn't buy Banjo from the Cox's. Someone else had him for several months before they sold him to Mr. Wilson.

I stand corrected on that point then.

So which one is Mr. vansickle not accusing, the people who had Banjo for years or the ones who had him for several months?

Still remains that these non accusations are ridiculous generalized mudslinging.

Thanks for all the nice words on Banjo. And I don't think anyone is accusing anyone of anything. But maybe I should have gotten him checked out by my vet. Maybe this is something that knowone knew about. All I was doing by posting Banjo had passed away was letting people know he was gone. Not trying to stir up any trouble. Some things just happen, but I do know that Banjo was a awesome hound and I miss him dearly.
