How do you guys remove dew claws? Let the vet take care of it or do it your self?

Clip em off myself around 5 days old, pinking shears put a dab of iodine and good to go. I take em off both the frt and rear.

We try to nip it off flush with the leg at 3-7 days old, if a pup is small we might give it another couple days. I use a large pair of flat nosed nail clippers, a older/dull pair seems to cause less bleeding than a sharp new pair as it will "pinch off" more so than "cut off", thus preventing more bleeding.
You don't just want the nail but the whole toe, as the bone will still form if the whole toe is not removed... ;)
