Steve, they've known theres been lions here for awhile now. I don't remember when but about seven to nine years ago they had a right up where a father and a son were out rabbit hunting and they came across half a deer hanging in a tree and caught sight of the lion and called there conservation agent he came out verifide it and the tracks. I beleave that was around Houston MO. Anyway for the last couple of years thay say there protected like the bear.

I would believe that where there is one big cat, in all likelyhood, there is another. While their territory is several miles in size two or more cats may occupy the territory, especially if they are not fully grown.

We have sighted several or these big cats on our place in southeast Missouri for several years. Hookset saw one crossing our field a few years ago. I have had 2 calfs that have been attacked by these cats. They had claw marks down both sides of the calf. They say that the calfs were attacked by young cats. Needless to say, we lost 2 calfs.
