Coyote?

I was running me dogs the other evening an had some coyotes come in on them they came running in to me scared to death.If I had nt been there they would have killed one for sure.My question is do coyote have pups right now?This is the first problem I've had hear in years run there all the time.I thought maybe they got around a den of pups does anyone know?Thanks

Frank Randol Angola say`s coyotes are more prone to attack when you are near the den`s at whelping time. Also the males will attack when dogs are near a pregnant female or running them. They will ambush your dogs.

In Ohio they usually whelp April-May.
