All niter what do you mean his ear will be half the size- are you saying if it is infected he will lose part of it.

Re: ear hematoma

how big are the hematoma's you have been dealing with? the one my dog has is the size of a toddlers fist. I drained 36 cc of blood off the other day and could have gotten a little more off but he shook his head and needle came out and I didn't want to stick him again.

I drained it once with syringe and needle and it filled back up. How do you get them to stop bleeding?

Re: see if ya like this video 1st swarm this year

I have been wanting to get a hive started. Problem is I have too many other expensive hobbies like my 3 year old, dogs, chickens, hunting, trapping, the farm, etc.... I have been looking for used equipment on Craigslist but I havent found what I want yet for the right price. If I could get into the ...

How do you find swarms? Do you go look for them or do people call you?

Re: let see the best lookin tri colors you have

TallPaul, I got him from a guy in Illinois named Ed Pautler. Flatcreek breeding. He is a solid hound all around- I put him in 2 progressive pack trials and he won best male and best of show both times. Guess I should put him in another and try to finish him on the show end. I think he placed int the...

Re: Melting Snow question

above freezing with moisture on ground usually equals some good scenting conditions. Melting or wet snows I have always had good luck in.

Re: What The.................!!!!!?????

Talldog, we hunted that day also and they were sitting extremely tight. I spotted 3 of the 10 we jumped sitting in the brush not 3 feet from me. One, the dogs were working my way, so I just stood there- took him 2-3 minutes before he got nervous enough to run. Not only that but they would run a half...

Re: beagle clubs in st.louis area

Steve, they run gundogs in Small Pack Option. Midwest is just a federation that runs in SPO I believe. I don't think there are any Mid-West clubs around here. Both the clubs I mentioned belong to the United Beagle Gundog Federation. As in any trial format you have a variety of judges and therefore a...

Re: Have a pup needs deer broke, Any advice? or Know Someone?

Mud- glad I am not your dog, lol. I have always been to the mindset that you use the collar to change the behavior- once dog quits, then electric quits. Dog takes to the track of a deer. Owner shocks dog till dog quits chasing deer. That should be all that is needed. Once they quit the electric is n...

Re: Have a pup needs deer broke, Any advice? or Know Someone?

I don't agree with Mountain Mafia. Repitition is the key not what he suggested which is burn them on 6 for 10 seconds and again till them come back to your feet. Let them get good and hot on the trail and be where you can see their reaction. Like they said keep quiet and hit them for a few seconds- ...
