Charging Garmin collars while camping?

Has anybody had much experience charging collars and AA batteries while out in a remote area for days. I have a converter that turns 12v to 120v to run a bank of outlets but you would have to run a vehicle for quite some time!I can't charge from the cigarette outlet without running the vehicle. I have a large generator also but is very loud! I'm using a Astro 320 with dc 40's I was curious about what anybody else does?

Get yourself a 1000 watt honda generator. Small and light. About the size of a 2 1/2 gallon fuel can. Super quiet. the db's of a refrigerator running. Runs for hrs on small amount of fuel. Charge everything and plug in small light string at camp. Best investment.

Grab the battery from your boat, rv, etc and hook up a power outlet to it ($5 or so at parts store).

My son and I camp for a couple weeks in Maine and we take a generator with us. We charge all the dogs electronics while taking care of the dogs at the end of the day. It will take a couple hours to charge everything. We have 7 dogs. We put the generator away from the tent.

I would think the draw on a battery from your inverter would be minimal charging your dog equipment. You could use an auxillary battery like mentioned above or if you have two vehicles in camp take jumper cables and use the truck and jump start in the event you do run the battery down. I use an inverter occasionally on jobs without power and can run drills and other power tools as well as radio and lights and make it threw the day just fine.

They make a car charger just plug in 12 volt in your car like you would cell phone

USE rechargeable batteries charge them up at home U should get up to two days on each set

Thanks for all the ideas! I took a look at the price of a 1000 watt Honda generator and was sure surprised! I'm looking at all options including solar charged battery. We are planning on camping in Maine for two weeks also!

Buy a good brand name. I bought mine at Sears on sale for $350-$400. It was 3000-3500 watt. You don't want a generator that fails you while hunting and camping. Don't go for a off brand name.

Sticker shock ehh? Every time I look at them I just shake my head and can't pull the trigger due to the price. They are sure quiet but holy smokes are they pricey!
