Dana, I hope you get some of this rain forecast for tomorrow... Finally had a decent 2+ hr run this afternoon with a SPO brace; we'll see how the faster hounds do tomorrow. If they run crappy I can always dry off and look for one of your threads to hijack and twist to politics :)

Me and a buddy went out yesterday and had several good runs. Didn't catch any but ran several to a hole. According to the meteorologists we are going to get enough rain to fill up the holes Tuesday through Thursday. Looking forward to good running the rest of the season.

Hey Hurricane Creek
Looking forward to some good steady precipitation to soak in to the ground.Had to do some digging today in the field and went down 2 feet and it was just as dry and hard as could be.We have had less than 1/2 an inch of rain since the end of September!
Took the dogs out this morning for 3-4 hours. It was extremely windy but I was pleasantly surprised as the dogs ran quite well and kept Buggs circling. My young Bomber male doing some special things that make a beagler smile.

We got two rains over the last 4 days, better than 3" total. Ground still hard but the air has moisture now to carry scent. I think the spell is broken and we can now get a start with the pups again.
Got the ole Tom cat and the pups leaned down so they hungry to hunt. Never had a fat cat that would hunt and catch mice and the mice are starting to show up where they not wanted...lol

Pray for folks in east Tn.
If you've watched the news in the last 24 hours you may have seen the fires that are now threatening Tennessee's most popular tourist and vacation destinations in Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge.
Many homes, vacation cabins and business are burning and many others threatened. We are finally getting rain here in east Tn. after not having any for several months. There have been as many as 70 wildfires burning in the mountains here for the past several weeks.Hopefully the rains we are now getting will slow things down.

Its unbelievable. As I sat watching the TV last night, homes and businesses were burning. The roads were bumper to bumper with folks trying to escape to shelter. This morning they showed a phone camera video as two men were driving down a mountain road in a race with death, as fire was on each side of the road, and trees were falling across the road. It looked like a scene from an action movie only this one wasn't staged. I'm sure that wasn't the only episode of such an event. Last night a lady reported her attempts to find safety. She would drive down a road as directed by authorities and be turned back. She did this several times until she finally found safety. I have no idea where the folks whose homes have burned will go until homes and businesses are rebuilt.

Were these Democrats or Republicans in trouble? . Or just maybe, when tragedy strikes we are all one people again... maybe the hate and vile contempt when we are all equally threatened evaporates the divide... maybe the worst brings out the best in us. Maybe we are healed with the land, the Lord works in mysterious ways, We'll pray God protects and brings brothers & sisters back together again, that what is most important is realized God's commandments give us direction but are like walking with a stone in your boot when pitted with the nature of man. Our greatest battle is the nature within ourselves. Nothing more refreshing than winning the battle in my experience but always another to follow.
God's blessing on those and your community.
