I agree totally, I've seen Trial Dogs that Were Gun-shy, wouldn't hunt, and couldn't circle a rabbit in the snow, or frost or any tough conditions.
Give me an ol Big Nose Cold trailing Son of Gun that produces a rabbit regardless whether someones running a timeclock or not.
I've seen both extremes of Trial Dawgs from Peanut rollers that wouldn't sight chase one if their next meal depended on it. to the Wide open Whippet dogs that all they want to do is sight chase, and they produce check after check!
How bout just looking for a Rabbit Dog that can jump His own rabbit, circle it nice and pretty in a timely fashion, in tough and good conditions.
That's A Gun Dog!
As The Ol Meat Hunter sayin Goes....Them Papers don't make em run any better....
