Ticks ~ prevention and after a bite
We currently use Frontline Plus for flea and tick prevention. In the past couple of weeks we have found a few ticks on the dogs. Last night we found a tick that had already bitten our dog and was still in fact attached. What is the best flea and tick product to use? And how is the best way to remove them if you do find them attached? And what do we look for as signs of infection? Thanks!

kbspeed the tick has to be attached for at least 24 hours in most cases for it
to transmit lyme disease or some other tick borne illness. You will usually see
ticks on your pets with Frontline and other products, but once they bite the
animal they die and fall off, before they are able to transmit the disease.
If you notice the animal acting lethargic or stiff there is a good chance it
may have contracted Lyme disease.
