I have two pups out of him an have seen him run in Canada. His pups each have differrent dams and they both have turned out very well . Easy starters, great hunt, one pup has good foot and the other is medium, conservative but a buddy of mine has his littermate and he is very impressive. All pups will be two in March but have places in LP and SPO. Spot is very impressive to watch. great dog. I will definately have more spot pups in the future.

Checked the site out; I liked the breeding & looks of Hammer, but it appears that he is deceased.

Greg, I think you are right and this will probably be the last breeding season for Tuffy also.

I seen Trade Sign run a couple times, and I wouldn't mind having a pup out of him. He was very tight in the checks and close on the line, he could really run a rabbit. I think Branko said Hammer died from kidney failure, but I'm not positive.

Hammer is dead. He died last fall from un-natural causes. He was not a real old dog. I watched him catch a hare in the spring of 2010 by himself and he ran very well. He just outran the other dogs we had down with him. I have 2 males that turned 1 year old on February 19 and they are from Hammer and Maya. Both of these males are good dogs and one is exceptional. Even if neither one gets any better with age/experience I am satisfied. The better one does it all right now but he should get better with age. Branko kept a female that is turning on good from the same litter. I have 3 dogs from Branko and all are very good dogs and run the guts out of hare.
The other dog I have is an almost 2 year old female from Tuffy and Scarlet O'hara. This is her second winter of hunting. She is an amazing dog. She was very slow to start but has really become an outstanding hound. I do not trial only hunt. I live in Saskatchewan and the hunting conditions here are brutal and my dogs run hare in the worst of conditions and still do a fantastic job.
I also watched Spot run while I was there. He did an excellent job as well. I am getting a male puppy from Spot in a few weeks.
I wrote all about my visit on this board last year. I was very impressed with Branko and Freida and have become friends with them.
My dogs are good but all the credit goes to Branko and Freida as all I did was buy some pups. They had many years of hard work/breeding and it has paid off big for me as I could not be happier. I am excited about the new puppy I am getting as Spot has produced some good dogs already.
I watched a bunch of Branko's dogs run when I was there and honestly he did not have any bad ones that I watched. I have had beagles for over 40 years and have never seen so many good dogs from one breeder. It was early spring when I was there the first time and the hare still were white and conditions were perfect for running. I know there are other lines out there that are good but I was fortunate to have met Branko and Frieda and wont look for other lines because of the way mine have turned out.

Dingo,
Thank you for posting that information. It is always great to hear from someone who has been to Branko and Frieda's home and watched some of these dogs run.The next time I start complaining about how bad the winters are here in the southern Adirondacks, I will think of you up there in Saskatchewan. It's good to hear that your pups have turned out for you and I think you are smart for sticking with Frieda and Branko in the future.
Who is the mother of the pup you are getting from Spot ?

The pup is from Maya. I wanted a female but there was none available so I took a male.

had a pup out of spot and trixie. his littermate just got a first in little pack. huge mouth, good hunt great personality, he just drove me nuts with cold trailing in the summer mornings, this male had a ton of talent though. he could run rabbits when nobody else could smell them. and serously he had a huge mouth.

Denny Dugan has had some of the best full Branko bred hounds to hit the AKC Mid-West circuit. Several have finished as FC. I think I'll buy that video of IFC Branko's Heli-Prop. All of my hounds go back to him.

Denny Dugan has had a chance to see and handle some really good ones and he does a great job with them in the Mid-West.
Terry McBride is another one that got to handle some good Branko hounds and he loved Heli-Prop.I never got to meet Terry but, he helped me out a lot about 25 years ago when I first got into beagles.Always looked up to him and thought he was a great person.
Greg,if I remember right, I see your hounds right up there in the trial results.

Yeah, we've had some luck in the last year or so, but it's hard to keep hounds good enough to place in the AKC Mid-West every year. The last ones I finished were Prime Time & Silver Spring in 2003, so I had an 8 year drought between FC's.
