If you did everything right then there is nothing you can do. The incubation time for Parvo is 7-10 days I know this because i had a dog shipped to me from Oklahoma and turned out to have Parvo in less then a weeks time. Ask any vet and they will tell you the same thing or just research it. Good luck

shots are only good if they have been took care of if they don't stay chilled they are as useless as the plastic they are wrapped in.i only buy my shots from one place because i know they take extra speical care of them,i would never order my shots throw the mail or magazines.im not sayin your shots were bad just saying that they can go bad quick if not takin care of........

It wasn't from your kennel if its that far back.... they should have given the 5 way or seven way at after they got it at 16 weeks... if they took it to a vet like they should have I am sure the vet would have recommended it... Giving shots that young is a crapshoot on if it works so responsibility falls on the owner in my opinion...

Parvo is very lethal. It cost too much (around $1,500) to put a single puppy in urgent care, and the doctors don't promise anything.

did they keep up with giving (the pup you sold them) shots? once it leaves your house in good health i don't see how it would be your fault. they should of kept up with giving the pups the shots.

I have a litter right now. i gave them all a 5way a few days before they turned 6wks old. The pups will be turned over to their new owner at 7wks old. Its on them to continue the shots at 9wk 12wks and 16wks. Thats the way I see it. If they don't then they are taking that risk and it shouldn't come back on you. IMO

I bought my shots from Jeffers. Overnight mail to my house in a cooler with extra ice packs. They were put in the frig soon as they hit the door step.

To me it sounds like they are trying to pass the blame on you and a trying to get their money back. The only thing you can do when you sell pups is have them as healthy as you possibly can before they leave your kennel. After that, the new owners take the pup, it is their responsibility. Personally all my pups have 2 shots in them and are at least 8 weeks old before they leave. First shots are a week after they are weaned from mom (ensures that the pups immune system is taking care of the vaccine and not moms milk) and another 2 weeks later. Plus have them on a regular worming schedule. After that, it is the new owners responsibility, not yours. I make sure I tell everyone that to. If they take the pup to a vet within a reasonable amount of time, and something is wrong, I will help out, but that is their choice. It sounds like you had started the pup on a vaccine schedule, and with the time that has passed, the pup should of had 4 more shots in it. If they keep pestering you, I would ask to see proof of THEIR vaccinations (itemized vet bill, or the serial numbers and name of vaccine) I am willing to bet, the only shot the puppy got was the one you gave him.

I only use Fort Dodge shots that is the only brand i know of that is put on ice from the time its made until delivered and no they are not shipped UPS my vet gets them strait off of the makers refridge truck Its not your fault 6 months later that parvo came from your kennel that makes no sense at all They cant say what caused it you done your part by vacinating the pup But whoever said someshots are just as good as the plastic is right if you buy just any shot if you buy a shot thats hasnt been kept cold its worthless one day off ice its no good There is not a 100% your pup is not going to catch a virus with a shot
