RIP LPGRCH TALKABOUT CODE BLUE

LPGRCH Talkabout Code Blue had to be put down today. He had been acting funny for about a week. He was eating good and moved pretty good. He acted confused and barked a lot. Vet said he had a form of dementia. He said he wouldn't get better. I did not want to see him suffer. The vet said it would be better to put him down.
Code Blue was a pleasure to trial and under the gun. He was one of about four true jumpdogs I have had in my 20 plus years of beagling. We try to keep hard hunting dogs but he was a true jumpdog. The kind when you have 5 hard hunting dogs out he would usually jump 8 out of 10 rabbits. He had plenty of foot.I remember not being able to run young dogs with him too much due to the pressure he put on them. I want to thank Paul Prevot for helping us get Blue. He will be missed.

If he was that good, why not live it out? I have one here that is going on 18 years and just going in circles all day long... but what he is, is and what I am , and for that he will be welcomed under my roof until he decides when it's time to pack it in. But again, just me.

Because he lost his hearing awhile back. His condition was causing him to not be able to see. He was bumping into things. He would get scared and just howl. He even got scared of me he was so confused. Yes he was that good in the past. We decided to put him down because he was suffering and I don't feel that is any quality of life for a dog. He was too good of a dog to me to let him suffer.
