Not Doing A Very Good Job Getting Your Interest In Watching

Post by mcardery2k »

I either have wore you guys out on my videos or I need to come up with some better ideas to get your attention. I know most of you want faster dogs but all I can offer is good steady running with few lost rabbits. Maybe if I would throw in a few sexy women in some shorts and sexy tops to do the shooting with the pistols that would keep your attention. I feel like I am loosing my audience. If you guys have interest in what I could do to gain your interest let me know. I could try getting some of the guys to stand on their head or whatever. I am working on trying to get the girls to come out with short shorts and boots on the snow and do the shooting with the pistols but so far the only response I have gotten is being called a pervert. I have had a couple older ladies in there 70's that have been willing but I am not sure that is what would interest you guys. If you know of and young ladies willing to take on the job they can contact me at may email add. I am looking for the one big video to put
me over the top.
All The good running videos don't seem to draw much interest from you guys. I think the biggest majority of you guys want to see speed. For the ones of you who do watch thanks. For the ones of you who don't watch please take a min. and tell me what you hate about them.
Thanks,
Mark~

About the only critique I can come up with on your videos is that I wish you could get more footage of the rabbit followed by the dogs on the line....

....oh, and come up with some snowshoe hare footage with your pack on snow! ;)

 That would be interesting, here comes the rabbit, there goes the rabbit, 30 minutes of nothing on the video and then here come the hounds on the line.

So i guess MARK,........ if ya stir the pot and we all get into a pissing match like was done about a year ago, about your type of hound, maybe your videos will go up in popularity again and people will watch for a while ........ Good thinking

Mark, I for one am not looking for speed at all costs, Most know that you can only run so fast and stay on the trail! But with that said there has to be a balance it isn't all about " tightest on the line" if that was so traditional brace would smoke you, every time. It is about an over-all, there is more to running rabbits than staying on every footprint. Most know that in general as a line the better the track dog the less of a hunter the hounds generally are. be careful about breeding straight track dogs or you will end up jumping most of the rabbits for them either because they do not have the desire or are so slow at it you can't hunt them in areas with few rabbits. as far as trailing the rabbit, a hound that will not take advantage of all of the scent available to pursue his quarry has had this " Run to catch" trait bred out of them. Head down at all times instead of head up, taking advantage of air scent to overcome the game is the first thing George Nixon had to over come to make the traditional brace hound what it is today.( Some guys go in the opposite direction and it is head up all the time this is a good example of poor breeding , as it does not promote an all around hound either.) He would have loved to start out with your hounds his job would have been much easier! Do your hounds have big noses, can't say, and no-one else can say that by watching your videos either, because and here is where your style will beat a lot of others, they are bred slow and steady, head down , close on the check, looking for the track with no intention of over taking the game. this makes for good grubbers, grubbing in the right places , moving slowly at these times will cause the appearance of big noses, and in fact they very well may have big noses, but this style will fool most into talking about big noses, it is clear that they do have good noses, though ! and we all wish we had good grubbers but not at the expense of breeding the hounds natural desire to catch his game out of them. Too much mouth for me and I am not talking about them being too mouthy either, constant yapping machine gun style every breath is not hound like, it is terrier like. Are they useful hounds ? well considering what makes a hound useful , yes they are , It just ain't my style for some of the reasons mentioned. I would much rather own them than the fast , fifty yard over-running the check, swinging , hooking, tight mouthed, trash that seems to be so popular these days, though!

i enjoy your vidios as does my son and brother but i enjoy all good beagle chases but like most the brace type dont hold my attention as long, as for what other people think of your type of dogs speed is just their opinion so dont worry about that its just an oppinion, i went and watched a friend of mine dogs run and he ask what i thought and i said ; as i whatched and listened to your dogs run and hunt i notticed you had a big smile on your face the whole time he said yea i really love these dogs and enjoy running them, and my answer was then what does my oppinion matter, just a thought keep the vids comming we will have more time to view them after season . but the pretty young ladies sounds good to, we wouldnt complain about them. thanks for your time

Het Mark,
I think a lot guys hunting right now and just not watching as many videos as they do early season. Also a lot guys want see killshots.
I have always enjoyed your videos, and regardless of personal preference on the type hound you run, I very much appreciate the fact that you take the time to film and then post a video. As you have to make sure you have the camera, get in a good spot to film, then go home and load into computer, then edit and post onto youtube. I have made many films and it is a lot of work!! So I just enjoy making them so I can go back and enjoy that moment in time whenever I want.
I too prefer the speed you run, but you can not make everybody happy all the time!!
Keep on filming buddy!!!

Nice video!

Funny, we run the same spots down at Stonewall. How many did you all jump there? We usually get several chases on out around the corner there toward the tracks. Only had one rabbit circle there last time, the rabbits down there sure don't run well for my dogs. Straight to a hole, they don't like pressure.

Take care and good running!

Mark you know I love your video and dogs.I like that you can put a video on here that a pack of dogs can really run the crap out of a rabbit. I know some don t belive it but I can see it in real life everyday. There are some guys down here that can really run the crap out of rabbit. What I have learn over the years of having all these different people coming with different speed of dogs running in my pens that people have there ways about a dog and you cannot show them or tell them any different. I m different I want to learn.I try a speed of dogs a( little slower) like your Mark around 20 years ago. We hit the big woods and real thick places and they run the crap out of the rabbit. But I notice that when they got in a thick place maybe 10 to 15 ac you could not get in there to see the rabbit. The dogs would run and run but the rabbit would not come out. I remember telling an old rabbit hunter Bill Lane about this and he said. Your dogs are not fast enuff to bring him out. I never tough of that but it seem to be true. We found out then to stay away the big thick stuff. The dogs will run him but most of the time the rabbit is not coming out..

Wright were I stay at is the border line between fast dogs and med speed dogs. Hunters down south have fast fast dogs and most of the guys up north have med speed dogs. Why is that. The guys down south have more rabbits and bigger thicker woods to hunt in.Where up north the guys don t have many rabbits and less woods to hunt in.Making were when they do jump one they have to stay on it.Were the men down south lose one they can get right back on another one.I respect everybody of what speed of dogs you want. When you have places to hunt and not many rabbits there you cannot go wrong with mark speed of dogs and you want to hear a good race. But if you have big woods and lots of rabbits and lots of shell and ready to smell smoke. Its hard to beat the fast dogs.Be a lot of rabbits kill that the dogs are not running. But just a few rabbits I would not have a fast one. I ve said it over and over. Lots of rabbits makes a different. Where you hunt makes a big different too.

Mark I think its like my two couple pack trials. The only ones there are the ones that like that speed of dogs. I cannot get them fast dogs boys to come and look at these trial if I pay them, and its like that the other way.Them med speed boys will not look at there trials.

I know you guys are probably tired of hearing this but I am not trying to influence anybody on what style of dog to run. You are going to run what you like just the same as if you are going to drive a Ford or a Chevy. Why I am trying to do is make videos that will entertain you guys so you will keep watching them. If I make quality videos that you enjoy watching you will keep coming back for more. If you do that then I get more money for the videos. It is that simple. If you guys have suggestions how I can do something that would make the videos better I would be more than glad to take and suggestions. As far as kill shots the only thing I can do is bring in better shooters because if you are counting on me to kill the rabbit it probably it not going to happen. I did buy a new Sony Action Camera that I am going to try so I can use both hands to see if that will help but I seriously doubt it will.
