A general forum for the discussion of hunting with beagles, guns, clothing and other equipment and just talking dawgs! (Tall tales on hunting allowed, but remember, first liar doesn't stand a chance)
I don't know why they don't use an authenticating code during registration like a lot of websites have. I don't know why they aren't IP banning the spam bots either. This is ridiculous.

I don't know why you aren't in charge of the world.
In any event, I've changed the spambot countermeasures to a question/answer requirement for registration, so I expect that will stop the breach for now. Thank you all for your patience and understanding. Well, most of you, anyway.
all that followed by 3 bot post...too funny...Need temp admins to clean it up. I dont think they can keep up with the post...lol it will all work out in the end
Might have to migrate all of this over to a new board altogether. The updates don't seem to be patching it. I'm banning IPs as I can catch them, but I think that will be a full-time job.

Thank you boss! A few spammers and bots aren't gonna keep me from this great place.
It worked. They are being stopped at registration again and they're piling up in the inactive list - which I can delete behind the scenes. They'll never make it to the board.
But this means that new LEGITIMATE accounts are funneled there, too. That's why it's important for those folks to email me separately with their user name so I can activate it before I dump all the spammers.
Look how many have tried to register in ten minutes' time. Imagine how many of these I get in a day:
Inactive users
This is a list of users who have registered but whose accounts are inactive. You can activate, delete or remind (by sending an e-mail) these users if you wish.
