Plain and simply put they are rabbit dogs. Nothing flashy, just get it done. Mr Holcombe has been doing it for a lot of years and doing it very well. Owned 4 at one time not too long ago, didnt get any pups of the quality of the parents but the stud did not come from Mr Holcombes kennel. Most on this site wouldnt own one, they like em faster. Rabbitdogs, net is the website your looking for.

Shoot me a PM if ya need any more info.

Daddy Rabbits dogs can run a rabbit to death. They are not fast but like the sayin goes, you can cover them with a blanket. One gets out from under the blanket, iit`s gone.

Hello:
My Good Friend here in Ga. that Owns the Big White Patch hounds,, Now I know his real name.. but his call Name, He Said was an Ol' Indian Name Tr-De-la-der,, or something like that? He hit the nail on the head,, when he said If one got out from under the blanket,, they were gone!

I have been breeding these Red hounds, for a long time, and they suit Me! Like Mr.LIkemfast said, he couldn't get anything that he liked,, but the Male, that he uses was Not the Hound that he should have been breeding his females to! He had a female, that was "Ricochet" he sold this little female to a fellow in Va. that presently said she was the Best Jump Dog, or maybe he said one of the Best Jump dogs that he owned.

Yes,, I breed for Hunt, line control and don't want anything that is running, Anything but a Rabbit! Has took me a long time but I am well satisfied with my hounds, I did lots of line breeding with an old male that was hard to beat in the P.P. hunts back when that Division was starting up, this male won the Sunshine Mills, Hound Of The Year, for two years in a row in the Gr.Fld.Ch. Class. Mr.George Blaine, from Oak Grove La. owned him and hauled him all over the USA. When he Retired "Honey Springs Radar" I was fortunate enough to get my hands on Radar. I owned a little red female that I call D.R.'s Squeel so was also a HOTY winner for two years in the open class P.P. that was back in the 1990's I still have this bloodline and I put a little more, "Pep in their Step" when I had a Red tick male shipped to me from Indiana,, he was Lilly Creek male small and quick as a cat, I been using that blood line now for about 10 years, as an out cross. They doing rather well, change the color a lots as I have some good looking Chocolate Ticks, but that color don't run the rabbits, as we all know.

Suppose I was lucky as the little Red tick,, I call "Philly" was an excellent water hound and he didn't care about running anything but a Rabbit! you have to keep those hounds that don't run any off game in your breeding program, no matter How good they can run a rabbit,, if they like Off Game,, I don't use them in my breeding program.

I must look my Ol' Injun friend's name up, bad to have a friend and can't spell his Name..

Yep it been many years since we,, the Ol' Injun and myself ran hounds together,, I see he is rather popular here on this web sight, and those Big White Hounds of his, would take A Big Swamp to see them, like the Daytona 500 !!

Someone Please check this old Web Sight out and see if it still works? I know it did at one time,, have to Double click on it.. Its like myself about wore out!

I dabbled in alot of diff lines, speed etc over my 30 plus years with beagles. I once hunted with a guy in south nj who had 2 daddy rabbit males. I was running my meat hounds , we hunted most of the day and I can tell you those 2 males tore apart every briar patch and honeysuckle patch we came to!!. Once my current dogs are gone, I'll be going towards daddy rabbit or high rock beagles from North carlolino. Both have similar breeding give or take here or there.
In my opinion, very, very good rabbit dogs.
Speed will vary, but anywhere med to med plus.

Good luck. If you have the chance to get a well started dog go for it.

Hello:
Well My what a Good Get together,, yes it been awhile since I was able to talk to some My Ol Buddy's
Now them Boys Up there in Ky will Put a Wabbit Dawg, On the ground, I know that for a Fact!!
Them fellow UP there in the Cold Country, will do likewise,, I was always a bit hesitant about sending. some of my bloodline up that way, but when a Yankee makes his mind Up,, no way can a Red Neck Change it, so I have sent a few up there, and so far none has been sent back.

Roster, let me tell you something about these old boys/girls on this web sight, you rubbing elbows with some Top Shelf, folks on this one,, I been on here a long time and that Mickey Mouse, bunch from that, other web sight is a big Joke.. Don't worry about getting your Roster Name, on this one. You will take a liking to this one anyway.

Tsa la gi my old injun friend, with them White, sled hounds, he is always after me and little red pups, but so far I know better than mess with something that looks about 17" and 36" long? I understand why he runs them big bad boys,, them Big old Swampers are bigger than my red dogs..

Say very cool talking with all fellows, and always good to have some fun, I like to talk some trash, all in fun.

Thanks Injun, for letting know about my Ol Web sight,, its the one Miss Sally made for me about 10 years ago,, and I didn't know if it was still working, suppose it ran out of gas?

Mr Holcombe
Now dont be telling people i sell good jump dogs, my phone still rings from the guys who bought those 4 i sold and from guys who saw i was selling them at one point in time. BJ (the gentleman) that bought Ricochet told me that she was the top dog in his kennel of 14 hounds, and he has quite a few different bloodlines in that kennel, and i know he does not keep any junk so that tells ya how good she must be. I'd probably have my own Red train by now but you hold onto those red stud dogs and wont sell them,. Thats why i had to get one elsewhere and well as you know the rest didnt work out so well. Good to see ya on the board, take care, and keep that red train rolling.
