I have a male out of classic cruz and prized. he is 8 1/2 marked like cruz.he has tons of heart and grit, one heck of a rabbit hound med speed with good mouth and good conformation. Ive only breed him twiced both times to same bitch pine mt spirt. i would like to line breed him just haven't found the right bitch.not to many new city dogs out there.but i really like the line of dogs good rabbit dog and not hard to look at either.
I'll be taking a trip to Ohio this weekend to get a look at the Horseshoe Run Prince hound and his offsprings. With all the show breeding in these hounds they must be some lookers. I just hope they preform well above average in the field because as all of us know just when we have someone come to look at our hounds the hounds do something crazy. I'll be reporting my findings if anyone is interested in this line of hounds. John

Ed dont forget you bred Scout to Pine Mt. Blue Bonnett. Ed sold me this fine hound when I had just gotten back into dogs. Wasnt the fastest hound but man would he jump rabbits and flat wear you out on the checks. Unfortunately Bob came down with an infection and had to be put down. 5 points away from championing in ARHA LP. Two 1st places. What a loss but will go down as one of my all time favorite hounds. Thanks again ed for selling me this hound wish he was still here.

Nice looking hounds you both have. Where is the Coacher hound located?Does most of the New City hounds have that square muzzle and the houndy appearance? I was looking at a photo of New City Cruiser and I must say that he was one fine looking hound and so were some of his ancestors. Coacher looks a lot like Criuser. You can see a photo of New City Cruiser on Woodpont beagles under past hounds. John
John, Tim Hackworth (Woodpont Beagles) was nice enough to let me have Coacher recently. Coacher was bred by John New and raised and trained by Tim. I am located in Minnesota.
Tim still has Woodpont Bruiser who is a grandson of New City Cruiser and out of Tim's Woodpont Birdsong female out of Northway Ninja and Woodpont Beauty.

Ky Scott, you can see Coacher's pedigree at World Pedigrees:

The Horseshoe Run Prince hound is a super fine looking/running hound. He runs like the mid-west hounds and he's quick and honest. If you like the way the mid-west hounds run you'll love this hound. He looks like the New City hounds and he has good conformation and a super nice bawl mouth. A very pleasant hound to look upon even in his old age. Alfred soloed Prince for me the first day we ran hounds then he put him in a pack with three of his offsprings and what a show he preformed. I watched very close to see Prince himself in action and I'm happy with what I saw. He can run a rabbit on pure dirt (no grass) just as smooth as he could on sod without walking the line or a excessive over run. His feet doesn't move to much faster than his brain so he can lock the wheels when he run out of scent and snap back to where he lost scent. At a check I wouldn't say that he always start the rabbit at the point of lost but,he gets it started and the run continues. I didn't see him swing or skirt to keep up with the younger hounds while running but, took his place in the pack until they broke down or there was a check. I think he's well balanced in the field.I breed a hound while I was there because of what I saw him and his offsprings do. I drove 13 hrs and stayed three day to see this hound and it was worth the trip because I'm going back to get a puppy in July. Alfred also has a Tango male name Benny that can run a rabbit but,he lacks in voice to me. John
