Lizard Creek Tadpole offspring

Post by John Taylor »

I have purchased a direct offspring of Lizard Creek Tadpole. He has good line control, but is a little hard for me to handle, he is not hard to catch but will not come when called even when not on game. I am handicapped and can not walk very well at times. I think it is the way he was trained. I am considering on useing him in my breeding program, but would like to here from others that have offspring of tadpole and their results.

Thanks

Tadpole

I would rather have a pup from Tadpole, then any stud out their. May (?) be the greatest reproducer living today. One man's opinion.

Thanks Run&Gun

I'll find out what my dog produces, he is a direct son of Tadpole. I don't like a few things about him. I think what I don't like is due to the way he was trained. He does not listen to commands when called even if not running. I have to go catch him and I cannot walk much. He does not hunt to far from you and is smart when he enters cover there usually is a rabbit and so far he only opens on rabbit.

I will use him when my well bred female comes in heat and I'll let you what I get?????

I have two grandpups from tadpole, one is unstarted but the other, a 14 month old male that is a double grand pup is doing very well. I like him a lot, and I have seen a lot of Tadpole's offspring run and have been pretty impressed with some. Jim and Phil Byram from Mississippi would be the guys to get ahold of. They could tell you anything you want to know about him! They are both top notch people and would be glad to answer your questions!

Jim Byram -- 662-424-3128 or you could e-mail him at jimbgunsmoke78@aol.com

Hope this helps,

I E-mailed Jim and Phil. I have not gotten a reply from either. I would give then a call, but since neither has replied they must not want to talk about Tadpole.

I will breed my Tadpole male to my female when she comes in heat. She is also FC bred. Her Sire was popular in SPO in Louisiana.

Would you have any idea what color Tadpole is? My male is Tri with a lot of Blue Ticking. I have seen pictures of some other of Tadpole offspring without ticking, just wondering what he looks like.

I have not trialed since in the 1990's. My handler and trainer passed on and job load was to much for me to trial. In 2003 my back gave out and was unable to walk for a while. I had surgery and am able to walk some and have a lot of time on my hands now. The love of Beagles never goes away expecially when you grow up with them. I purchased a female in late 2004 and the Tadpole male in late 2005 thinking I could do some hunting. I tryed hunting, but found out I could not walk enough to handle dogs on my own, so the dogs are run very little. I have a grandson that is 8 years old and is showing some interest so I though I would breed My female which is also FC bred to the Tadpole male and maybe come up with something he and I could have fun with and possibaly catch a few trials. I wanted to find out information on Tadpole such as size, color, search, speed so I might have and idea on what to expect from the mateing.

I have received and Email from Phil Byram. He answered most of my questions about Tadpole. I will use my Tadpole male to mate with one of my females and let everyone know how this total outcross works out.

Thanks for the help!!!

Glad to hear that john, I figured that one of them would get back with you. Did you ever get your picture of Tadpole? I just came across one of the old Rabbit Hunter mags with his pic on the inside of the cover. If you still havent seen a pic of him let me know and I will try to find a way to get a pic on here.

Talk to you later,
