Another question to all beaglers...
Moderators: Pike Ridge Beagles, Aaron Bartlett
First I wouldn't pay $10,000 for a hound, second I don't like to buy running hounds. If I did I would be really interested in FT CH Bay Boy Snickers. This is a well bred bitch that has just turned two years old. She won her first 6 or 7 trials she was entered in. She now has, I believe 12 win in Canada and won the only trial she was entered in the US.
With her being only 2 , a person would have a lot of fun hunting and trialing her for years to come.
With the breeding behind her there is a very good chance she herself would produce some nice pups.

In your mind, you just paid $10,000.00 for a hound. That's all we're doing, lol.Farwest wrote: If I did I would be really interested in FT CH Bay Boy Snickers. Re: Another question to all beaglers...
First of all I want to get straight that I wouldn’t consider $10,000 to be “blown” on a really good beagle.WrongsideRandy wrote:Let's "pretend" you had as much as $10,000 to just blow on any beagle in the country................what dog would you be trying to buy??![]()
This should be fun.
Take care,
Randy
Let me “partially” define what I consider a good beagle:
1) A top-notch jumpdog, and comes from a line of good to great jumpdogs.
2) A dog that does not want to quit.
3) An outstanding track dog.
4) Excellent confirmation
5) A dog that is very biddable.
6) A dog that has good kennel manors.
7) A SPO Field Champion that would hold his own with anything he was up against in the 13” Male class in the AKC SPO Nationals, and being judged by judges I knew and highly respected.
8) A dog that has very little deformities in his bloodline.
9) A dog that's from a bloodline that will compliment “my” bloodline that I’ve had for over 20 years.
10) A dog that has a good mouth.
11) A dog that very healthy and has had a clean vet check.
There are many more things I could mention, but I think I’ve stated my case.
So if anyone comes across a beagle like this, “I will pay a $100 finders fee to anyone that puts me in contact with the owner, if I decider to purchase the dog in the end”.

Guys, I'm I the only one that has noticed of late that IFC Branko's Proper Baron is starting to show he can also reproduce with excellent results on a consistant basis? Could he be the next Branko great? I have also heard good results from different people on some started pups from 2X NLPC FC Branko's One Tuff Ombre. His litters aren't old enough yet so they might not be showing results. I for one will be keeping my eye on these two males.
I'VE GOT SOME DOGS THAT ARE GONNA HURT SOME FEELINGS!!!!! I just hope it's not mine. Home of Wild Hare Kennels and FC Creek Woods Blue.

10,000
I think Syris Mcgee should be in this dog fight. I never saw him run but I have heard some pretty good accounts of his abilities. He has been throwing some decent offspring. I don't know that Rick G would have taken it. I think I could adjust my pack to fit in some of the fine dogs listed above. I own a female off Syris that may not be worth 10,000 to anybody else, but she means alot more to me than money. The look on my running buddies face when she drives a check out an hugs the line for few hundred yards is worth a couple of grand every time.

I saw a few dogs out of Syris Mcgee and one thing that was pointed out to me by some owners was thier extreme over or under bite. I saw this myself and this occured out of 3 different dams. Maybe it was just a coincidence.

I don't think Proper Baron is being bred as much as he was 4 or 5 years ago. Back then there were lots of hounds showing up from him. I think it is one of those things were people forget and move on to the next up and comers.Chief Long Hair wrote:Guys, I'm I the only one that has noticed of late that IFC Branko's Proper Baron is starting to show he can also reproduce with excellent results on a consistant basis? As far as One Tuff Ombre, I should know more in about a year or so

I guess "my bad" on Proper Baron. In this months "other mag" has him in there quite a bit as a sire of many dogs who have placed this spring in many locations. I quess one month's issue shouldn't count.

Chief Long Hair, You are on target about the Syris pups over/under bite, however, they are consistant hard hitting, hard hunting hounds that could fill my kennel anytime. Did you ever get a chance to see the litter I ran after they matured?
Did you and Justins dog out of Ombre go up north and finish IFC? I heard you guys were going to try to finish him there as well.

I own and was the breeder of the dog that I preasently own the dog I would try to buy. He is what I have been trying for in my breeding program for years. Not bragging just stateing A fact. If I did not own him I would be looking for one like him.
The view is all ways the same from behind.
