Bev & Smitty very good posts. Your right on.
It cracks me up when people get on here & say that ALL Branko dogs are crap....When they have never seen only a handful go. To say that his hounds are crap....well your not just judging the hound anymore....but saying that the people that own them don't know a good dog either.
Don't worry about what people think....most don't do it often!!!

The amount of intelligence and ignorance on these boards never ceases to amaze me. Talking bloodlines to me is much like discussing politics or religion. A lot of opinoin, no hard answers. The one thing I know is the more successsful you are the more people talk, good and bad. So I guess the Krpans are doing something right cause you have 12 pages here and this is not the only time this subject got this kinda response. And for the record I have no and never had any Branko hounds.

Are there any top producing Branko bred stud dogs that are not owned by the Krpans at stud in the lower 48?

Define top-producing. Depending on your definition, I can list a few. Do you have any top-producers that we should be aware of?

SPO Field Champions seems to be the criteria that most use as the measure for success. I scanned through your Stud Dog Directory and saw a couple of Branco dogs lited but I don't know if they have been prepotent for prducing the traits that judges are looking for.

I agree with you earlier statement about beaglers attributing traits to a line that shows up five generations back in the pedigree. I have pointed that out numerous times on the boards. If you breed em then you are responsible for the good or the bad , not Frank Reese, Branko Krpan, Les Blondino, nor any other breeder that has earned a reputation.

I know nothing of what the judges are looking for - nor care- I do know that I have a Branko hound out of Heli-Prop that produces rabbit dogs that can run a lick. I have some RABBIT HOUNDS to prove it, so this is not something I just wrote on the computer because it will allow me to do so. . If you ever come to Washngton State look me up. Better yet bring your dogs. I have running here that will bring the Cream right to the top. I will be on stand by........

When this topic is beaten to death we will start a new one "Break O Day Beagles". I'm sure there will not be twelve pages. :)

Guys I received my beagle fron the Brankos about 2 weeks ago. So far she has been to the T that Branko described her. She is a very clean, on the line and fast hound. I am very excited to possibly trial her in some hunts this fall. Sam I will be giving you a call here soon to meet and run our dogs. The dogs name is Brankos Contrary Mary. I also bought a male pup straight out of Brankos One Tuff Ombre. I expect good things out of him. Thanks to all that gave me the advice.
