Hey JAW, did you happen to snap a picture while you were there? What is the breeding on the female you bred to him?

Tim, let me know if you go up to see this male run and his pups. If he suits you I think he might be a good cross for my Cora female off of Chaplain.

Yes Lance I took several photos of the Prince hound and I might add that he's a very good looking hound also.He looks just like the New City breed hounds on the Woodpont web site. John

Actually, Prince is more of a tri-colored hound. The Woodpont Beagles are generally darker, and more black and tan. Prince is marked about the same as FC. Indian Hills Majer.

His markings are like the Indian Hill hounds because of all the white on him but his features/appearance looks more like the New City hounds actually. None of the Indian Hills hounds look like this hound. John

Prince looks a lot like FC. Indian Hills Majer, except that Majer had a little better conformation. Majer was bred by John New, so he was really a New City hound.

I looked at the photos of the Indian Hills hounds on the Beagles Unlimited board under mis. info. You may be right about Prince looking like Majer. Photos sometimes never do a hound justice and the photo of Majer is one of poor quality that I was looking at. I stand corrected thought because Indian Hills Rowdy and Prince look simular. It doesn't matter to me who he looks like one way or the other because he's a fine looking hound with good conformation and the main thing is he can get it done in the field. I'll be having a litter of little Prince's in about three weeks from my Indian Hills Nightrain female and I just hope they have the same looks and abilities as the hounds were talking about. John

Horseshoe Run Prince

Post by uplander44 »

I have seen Prince run many times thats why I have three young hounds out of him all with different dams.I have not had the pleasure of seeing some of the great hounds of the past such as New City Cruiser and Indian Hills Majer run, like Im certain Tim H has but I can only go on history and what people say about them. But lets not forget that Princes sire was Mark V's Ace in the hole whos dam was Salt River Wrinkle whos sire was Indian Hills Tonto whos sire was Indian hills Majer. So we can say Prince has a lot of New City in his bottom and a shot in his top also, this would difinately support the thinking that he looks like Majer.Tim if you seen Prince run a rabbit if you dont mind me asking what did you think of him?
Thanks Vic

Vic:
I watched him run in a brace for about a half hour and was very impressed. He is maybe a tad faster than I prefer, but he kept his rabbit moving. He has a nice rolling bawl mouth, and seemed to be very clean with it. His son was running with him, and they were well matched, which was a good indication that he can produce. I have no doubt as to what Alfred says about his producing ability. Anyone who likes a hustling, driving, run-to-catch hound would probably like Prince.

My Fanny hound had eight (8) little Prince pup yesterday before dark.I don't know if she was through having them are not but, I did count eight so far. I'll check the gender in a day or so to see what I have. That Prince sure knows what he's doing because after the first tie he wouldn't mess with her any more. I guest he knew that she was bred. I'll try and post a few photos in a day or so. When I went to check this morning it was nine (9) of the little brats and all of them were fighting to get to the tit. John
