will be 10 in August and running hard. thought that the burden of carrying and giving birth might be too much for her.... don't want anything to happen to her she is still my best hound..... but would like to get some pups off her

Has she been breed before? If yes, go ahead she'll be fine, If no, then that is too old to start.

just last year i breed my 10 year old female she had pups no problem i didn't run her as hard when she started getting as big as a basketball but she ran fine up untill i stoped at about 2 weeks left just keep her in shape while she is bred and she should be fine
