chain i said the dog had to make forwaRD progress only the speed of the forward progress seems to be in ?? as long as he barks first and is makeing forward progress i will give him the check!i dont care if all the other dogs pass him up cause he was the best dog at that moment they might not have ever found it if it wassnt for him!i also say stay at 15.

certification would come down to a state rep(that is who the rule says) would say i know your dog dont worry.

just curious, it says circle. what if a dog got up 3 or 4 rabbits in that hr and all of them went to straight to the hole?

Hey COLLINS guess that dog you are running that mouth about would be mine . You know its funny how little fellas like yourself have 0 respect and use this internet to run there mouth off. So me being the generous fella i am i will show how it works . First off linton cress is a great fella i simply ask him what he had to kill the pain , and if memory serves me correct while he and i were talking you butted in like i was your favorite football player you just had the oppurtunity to meet , so yea junie is my dog .I want to you to say my name over and over again cause its little droopy eyed boys like yourself , that got a computer that pee me off . My dog had a horribly ripped pad and a broken toe . Lets quote facts . He placed 6th in the opens at the world getting beat by 10 points to the reggie dog that won it all, not bad for a three legged dog huh?I do not know how many opens there was but it was over 300. He won the little world with around 280 opens wait i aint done yet jr hold on . OH thats right he also won the indiana state, oh yea i forgot he placed 8th at ky state . How many dogs are you feeding ,several i suspect .I have heard aboutthat club of yours heard you will get buddie judged out the ass . Maybe thats why you ol boys are making all them champions hell aint hard when there are 20 to 30 dogs .See them titles dont mean much to me especially when it crooks loke yourself doing it . So if ya think Mark Brown got in the ass for ya you have obvoisly never really known me . I am a true REDNECK in there greastest form that take dogs very personal as well as seriously . So if ya ever get some real dogs that can circle a rabbit and stand the pressure of a gun then maybe we may get together . I feed three you pick one i will drop it on ya for about 4 hrs for about say any thing you got worth losing .I beleieve with all my heart that i am not the fellas you want to mess with as others on this board will tell ya , I dont play the little internet games I run dogs I got money I back up my mouth . I would like to see another rule change that has to go along with the bench. When it comes down to the BIG hunts score it on paper like it use to be. There was a lot of good looking dogs at this years world hunt that didnt even get looked at, wonder why that is. So, for the state hunts and the big five hunts put the bench back on paper and then you can see the real bench dogs. Other than that leave lp alone.

It's simple guys,if you dont like the rules that have been submitted for vote call a club meeting and let the members vote for or against the rules changes that are up for vote.Go to the rules meeting Aug 26 in indianna and make clear your likes and dislikes.
I like things the way they are also,but they have been put on the table for all involved to vote on.SO vote!

Now i do feel somewhere along the way this discussion drifted off course and is of bad taste to start using someones dog as an example when they have no idea of what kind of dog he is.I am very good friends with Jimmy,he has broad shoulders and dont need me to fight his battles but remember what i say:He has always been a man of his word,so if he tells you something listen close and if he makes you a promise WATCH OUT

BOYS IT BOILS DOWN TO THIS... the hounds have changed they bred to be faster,check harder ,drive harder , i have seen it myself with the right dogs in one cast in the right place there aint no way 2 judges that are quick on there feet can catch everything...as the hounds change the rules have to follow sometimes...think about it boys when you were kids runnin with dads and grandpas beagles were they anything like the lp dogs of today?...
as for the other comments:
i would sure be careful not to let my mouth write any checks that my ass couldnt cash....cant we all just get along?.....

The certification rule would probably take care of getting to choose whether to champion or not. Then if somebody wanted to stay in th open class forever,without changing more rules they could. I don't have a problem with dogs having to certify but if would seem like drastic changes would have to be made to HOY scoring. If they could not stay open class would they be in limbo until they certified.
I probably don't have to worry about my potlickers,but it is something to think about. There has to be some field dogs for the big boys to beat up on !

i agree with all but i still would like to see the dogs measured before the hunt . if no problems than than there shouldn't be a problem. and i agree with jimmy but unlike him there are some of us that doesn't have alot of money but we love our dogs but i think there are some people that think scince you don't go to all the hunt's or have a big name dog that you don't have a chance which i always thought you judge the dog 's not the name or money that someone has.

I fill ya buddie I aint got much money but I can back up my hound
I feed 3 dogs not 30 . I am single so my dogs are my family ,i take great pride in my family they have been bred raised and will die in the valley .
I have also ran dogs to a great extent for the last 15 to 20 years . If my dog wins a hunt beleive me the trophy is nice but will never repay me for the countless hours a divorce

and several bumps and cuts. I have
made several lifetime friends fooling with these silly dogs . And if I have
any bigtime dogs they have been run to death . And I have been involed with ARHA since 1990.I am a common working stiff like the rest

I am just glancing over some of this, I am brewing about the latest letter recieved from the organazation also.

My question is: How many of you that want shorter checks are active judges??????????? 15 seconds is just fine IMO, I have a hard enough time cutting the dogs to score a check. Take it down to 10, you are going to hear even more belly aching about missed checks.

i feel ya turn i am 47 not aS FAST AS I USED TO BE LOL. and a little fatter but i think in many cases they better dog did not win the cast simply because it got alot of short checks!or in other words it kept the race goin !

I agree preacher, been beat that way my share of times also. There has to be a breaking point on the judges, and there seems to be less and less of them all the time.

i have been it scince 1997 i was divorced when i got into it but i got married 3 yrs ago i have 5 dog's that i share with a kennel partner . and i also have 3 boy's and 1 girl now that i'm on disabillity i still run my dog's but it's a hobby to me but when i make a trial i expect my dog's to be judged fairly. i'm also raising smky mtn cottaintails for sell so i can help my wife with some xtra money. jimmy it's been nice to talk to you . tracy
