Hey bryan how are ya , Its just hot hot hot In ky . I have been wantinting to get up there and run my dogs but it has been so hot that i aint made it .
I keep trying to keep my culls in shape as trialing is getting close.
I keep trying to run these new rules thru my head , Adam you are probaly right about them 10 second checks . Now that i think about it the proposal one measuring dogs Will not work . A show pose will measure about half of us out even at 15.5 inches done tried it . I also think off game is off game , scratch em get them out . This is the rule I want somebody to clarify cuz i may be miss understanding it . If your dog minuses out in the last cast he would still place ? Thats silly in my eyes if he cant shut up the last round , how did Mr too much mouth make it there anyway? Too much mouth is worse in my eyes than being to tight .Am i understanding this rule right ?

Not sure what LP is proposing, but in PP you have one hour. Dog has to find a rabbit on his own with no help, circle it, and be shot over after the circle. If your dog fails certification for whatever reason, you can pay another 10 bucks and try again. There is no limit on how many times you can attempt to certify.
For a rabbit dog, it is EASY to certify. For a dog with faults, it is a major road block to becoming champion.

The way certification was done in PP is you get as many chances as you want, it's $10 each try. We certified 3-4 dogs to Champions in an hour once. I have seen dogs certify in less than 10 minutes.........and I have seen others that couldnt certify to save their lives.
If you go out to certify and dont get a rabbit up in the first 20 minutes or so, most people stop the clock and switch places. You will eventually find a rabbit and it dont take long to certify to Champion, now Grand is different. The certification for becoming a Grand Champion is the hardest there is!!!
The truth is........any dog can luck into a win and become a Champion in LP. The only thing certification does is assures everyone that the dog can in fact hunt, jump and circle a rabbit solo and isnt gunshy.
I just dont see any drawbacks on certification.
Best to you all,
Randy

Rule 8.I also back this very strongly . This will prevent what has taken place the last 5 years . When years out ur done move on to champs , to many people give them first place wins away to prevent chapioning .
I also beleive if a judge is responible or in away helps this process he should be banned for life . The right dog should win hoy every year .
There is NO one blood line or a indiviual that is that strong . The competiton is too terribly strong . I can not see why hoy should not be a different person . Once you hit the grch they can be dominance but not in open or champs . Another rule should be at least 3 guys judge from semis to final cast at world hunt , I also beleive they should be from different states . If a dog jumps a rabbit and that judge dont give it to the correct dog or only gives him a strike / Thats bs how many times have you seen judges that screw ya out of that jump? How many strikes will you have at 2.00 pm . "I DIDNT SEE IT " BUT THERE ARE 4 DOGS UNDER THERE FEET . I love that quote as my dog screams it out and dont let up for 45 seconds. Boys moral of the story there is always room for improvement . Who is heading up the rules commitee anyhoo? And before you boys jump on me feet first I am not talking about ohio tony kevin or anyone else ok? I am simply telling you my pov. Hoy is a big deal lets treat it like one .

WELL I REALLY DON'T EXPECT MANY OF THESE PROPOSALS TO GO THRU. THAT IS WHAT THEY ARE, PROPOSED CHANGES.
MORE THAT LIKELY THE 10SEC CHECK WILL GO THRU ALONG, ALONG WITH A 40 POINT JUMP. BUT MANY OF THE CHANGES WILL NOT MAKE IT AND I TELL YOU WHY, YOU DONT HAVE A FULL VOTE, YOU CAN VOTE IN YOUR CLUB BUT THE CLUBS FINAL DECISION IS WHAT WILL BE TURNED IN. YOU MIGHT BE FOR IT BUT IF 51% OF THE REST ARE AGAINST IT, THEN THE CLUB VOTE IS NO.
HAVE ANY OF YOU SEEN ALL THE PROPSED CHANGES? IT IS A PACKET NEARLY A 1/2 INCH THICK. MANY THAT HAVE NOT EVEN BEEN DISSCUSSED ON HERE. THERE HAS EVEN BEEN A BIG HUNT ADDED TO BENIFIT JUVINILE DIABETEES, THAT AWARDS THE SAME POINTS FOR HOF AS A STATE HUNT.
SO WHETHER YOU ARE FOR OR AGAINST, YOU NEED TO BE AT YOUR CLUBS MEETING AND VOTE ON IT, NOT JUST GET ON HERE AND SPOUT OFF. THE PACKETS HAVE TO BE BACK IN TO JOYCE BY AUG 15 OR TAKEN TO THE MEETING AT THE ERIE CANAL BEAGLE CLUB ON AUGUST 26. THEY MUST HAVE YOUR CLUB PRESIDENTS SIGNITURE AND CLUB NAME PLAINLY ON THEM AS WELL.

Guys I started this just to get some opinions and to see how the other clubs might vote. I am President and assistant Master of Hounds at South Central Kentucky Beagle Club (which is Collins Country Club) I do a lot of judging there and I truly respect all guys who run NKC little pack. We started this club for the competition and for the fellowship. I have traveled all over the state to hunt and yes I am one of the good ol boys who does this for the bragging rights.
I have heard several people at different clubs talk about our club and how all we do is buddy judge. I just want to let everyone know the facts

Yes most of us good ol boys do not have the money or the time to travel to all these big hunts us good ol boys will leave that to gentlmen who can but to me to get a first at a small hunt is just as fun as getting one at a big hunt. For that day for that hunt you had the best dog. Something to be proud of.Collins Country wrote:I have heard aboutthat club of yours heard you will get buddie judged out the ass . Maybe thats why you ol boys are making all them champions hell aint hard when there are 20 to 30 dogs .
Majority of the guys who judge at our hunts are from Carlie, Russell Springs, and Liberty clubs. Yes we do have small hunts but it is because of statements like this. As far as I know Collins has never won a hunt at our club. The two champions he has got their first in Tenn. and Albany. Neither time was a buddy of his judging. The guys who have helped judged at our clubs have been judges for a long time and I think they do an excellant job of bringing the best dog back. I would really appreciate people who have never been to our club and probably never will to not talk about the guys who get out there and judge.
Thanks to all of those who posted their opinions about the rules. I appreciate trying to make the organization stronger and NKC little pack guys sticking together and helping each club make it.
