Collins, I met you at the World hunt. I had the Lemon female in the Champion class against you. You are a big ole boy I doubt you can run better than me. Do you think you can consistently score 10 second checks?
I dont really care what they do but ive never understood why there is even a time limit. Makes no sence to me at all. Can some of these LP dogs actually count? No matter what you do, 1 or even 2 judges will ever get everything. I say forget about a time limit and let the judges score what they can. I would bet the best dog would win as long as the judges were honest.
I dont understand, What does time have to do with it??????? Get rid of the time limit period and if the dogs check up then score the one that gets it. If you're not there to score it then dont. I would be willing to bet there are more checks not scored because they were'nt long enough, with a judge present to score it than checks not scored because a judge wasnt there to score it.
If you don't breed for hunt sell you're beagles and buy a POODLE AND SOME PERFUME! GUN DOG'S that's all that matters. The rest will fall in place.

MY PERSONAL OPPINION IS LIKE SEVERAL OF THE OTHERS ON THIS POST. I THINK A CHECK SHOULD BE A CHECK. MY DOGS CAN'T COUNT.
THEN IF THAT WERE SO, LET THE JUDGE GET WHAT HE CAN AND LIVE WITH IT.
WHEN A CHECK TAKES PLACE OR AS IN UKC, A RECOVERY, IT IS BECAUSE A MISTAKE HAS BEEN MADE, THE TRACK HAS BEEN LOST. WHEN YU AWARD A DOG FOR LONG BREAKDOWNS, HE IS REWARDED FOR A WORSE MISTAKE. WHY NOT AWARD THE DOG THAT CORRECTS THE FASTEST?

WELL HERE IS HOW I FEEL ABOUT IT. NO PUNCHES AND HOPING NOT TO RUFFLE ANY FEATHERS.
BUT HERE GOES. I THINK LITTLE PACK SHOULD STAY THE SAME BECAUSE THE WAY IT IS NOW IS WHAT MAKES IT SO UNIQUE. THERE ARE OTHER FORMATS AVAILABLE FOR EVERYONE TO RUN. A MATTER OF FACT, I RUN IN 3 DIFFERENT FORMATS, LP, AKC, AND UKC. I HAVE PLACED IN ALL OF THEM AND THEY ARE UNIQUE. I AM HOPING TO EVEN TRY PROGRESSIVE PACK THIS FALL.
BUT AS FAR AS LITTLE PACK, YES I CAN SEE CHANGE COMING, BUT IF ALL THE PROPOSALS WENT THRU, IT WOULD NO LONGER BE LITTLE PACK.
Since you have placed in lp akc and ukc . Why in the world would you not want changes ? The new rules will pretty much combine the three different registries. It should not matter how long checks are 10 15 25 seconds . The right dog comes back 70% of the time . Most judges cant hang with the last dog in the pack . So how does it always get so much score? Little pack went away with 2 hour cast , if you cant run for 1 hour stay home or dont judge . 1 hour cast are luck i repeat luck all it takes is a
jump dog . Unless ur getting the ol buddy judge then suddenly ur strike is a jump and my jump is a strike .
Boy, Walking straight in the fire putting a post on here... i know what it all is... everybody on here, like myself, is getting antsy waiting on these stupid trials to start back.. Rule change or no rule change its still doing what i love to do best. Workin all week trying to prepare a dog, just to see if you can make it through to another round. We all got that love boys.. let sleepin dogs lye...Run em till they drop..

talking about that cast at the world you refered back to talking to collins. If you remember, me and my younger brother judged that round, and ill tell you, im not to bad of shape, and my brother can run forever...and there would have been very few checks givin under 10 seconds in that one.. we missed several 15 second ones...so like you said...i like the fact from a handlers point, but not from the judging part of it.
Who cares about all these rule changes. All I want to say is come and bring your easy chairs and set on the hill or road with me and just listen to a bunch of dogs doing what they wanna do. The only thing you might get a ribben and I can take um also, but there's nothing better than a bunch of Friends or even enimies at one time just sitting around. This brings back old memories of when I was younger and I went with the old fox hunters at home. A big old camp fire and some of them were mad at each other during the week, but come Saturday and Sunday the camp fire was a roarin and food a cookin and you would never know that anyone was mad at anyone before. So here's your invatation to come to Ohio and sit around with me and my hunting buddy and just listen to the dogs run.
