Here is my two cents. How many times have we came back from a cast and said that there was a lot of short checks. I know there has been times myself and other judges has said, the really good dog didn't win because the dog was finding the track before the 15 seconds was up.

There shouldn't be a time limit, and to say well we will miss a lot of checks, we do now, and it is 15 seconds, and there is times we can't give a check, because the dog found the track in less than 15 seconds.

Do away with the time limit, and it will save some people from saying that one judge is giving to many short check and cheating the other dogs.

My opinion, what ever the clubs decide i will continue to run and support little pack. if certification is what the clubs want so be it. No time limit on checks if thats what the clubs want, then i wont need to use the stop watch as often. As long as its decided with a honest vote by the clubs and not a situation where a few big shots haven't been doing as well as they thought they should, so now were changing the rules. Over 600 dogs at the world hunt would lead me to believe little pack is currently doing things right. If change is necessary for the good of little pack, then maybe the world hunt will be even bigger next year, as long as it is done by an honest vote. We are all well aware of what happened to progresive pack when there was supposed to be an honest vote.

the way i understand it you are now aloud to run dogs under different numbers. if you handle a dog for a friend and handle your own dog in the same cast and you put the wrong collar on the wrong dog and the dogs are scored wrong its ok. dog 1 red dog 2 green and you put green on 1 and red on 2 the dogs are good to go no disqualification.

WELL,THERE WAS NOTHING THAT SAID ANYTHING ABOUT A NUMBER.THE RULE JUST SAID THAT THE DOG HAD TO RUN IN THE CAST THAT IT WAS DRAWN OR BE SCRATCHED.DEL MORGAN CHANGED THIS RULE BECAUSE OF WHAT HAPPENED AT THE IRONTON CLUB.THE RULE NOW READS "A DOG MUST RUN IN THE CAST THAT IT IS DRAWN AND WITH THE NUMBER THAT THE CLUB GIVES IT OR IT WILL BE SCRATCHED"THIS WAS NOT VOTED ON IT WAS JUST CHANGED TO CLEAR UP THE RULE AFTER WHAT HAPPENED. :D

I think the 15 sec check rule was introduced because of cheating. A judge can check his favorite dog more often if no time is put on checks. This is another example of why rules are made, if everyone were honest then no rules would be needed. Just turn loose and let the judge ddecide however in reality this cannot happen because of the dishonest judges, "not all judges." Rules will not stop cheating but it will slow they will slow it down. If the time is lifted from the checks I think we will see and hear of more dishonesty. Just my opinion

the only one i think they need to change is how the dog makes a ch the pp has it right so lp should do the same but the rest make sence but there dont seem to be a real problem so leave them alone

I was there don't have the info in front of me, it's at home. I can post the changes when I get around to it later this evening or tommorow. I'm just curious though after 10 pages of arguing and bitching, how many of you belong to a club that was represented at the meeting????

Either way by mail in votes or representation.
