YES I have seen a dog that Loves pears She is here in my Kennel!!!!!
A Short Story on her.
We were trying Our Darndest to get her CH on her in the AKC show ring and she was a little heavier than what the judges were puttin Up at the time And we were told to take a little Weight off herSo We started Cuttin back on the food a little more and a little more each time till we were down to 1/4 cup a day and suplementing With Green beans Well She just kept Gainin Weight!!!
I was lookin out back one day and noticed her eating Something in the back yard So started watching As the Pears were gettin Ripe they were fallin from the tree and she was Eating them as fast as they fell LOL Soon as we restricted her from the Yard All was Well and the weight came off LOL

We also have one that will be hard to trial in a blackberry thicket!!!!

If your dogs are anything like mine, they will eat just about anything. Hotdogs, fruit, vegies, cheese, a hamburger..... I dont' normally feed my dogs people food, but when we have company and grill out, there is inevitably some food that makes it to the ground and once in a while it gets taken to the dogs for a treat. I remember the first time I tried to give Blue a bone from a "T Bone" steak, he didn't know what to do with it at first... LOL!!!

Anyway, I can't see and friut or vegies hurting a dog in any way....

Mine have taken a liking to the apples off the apple tree in the front yard! Little pup was getting the runs and I couldn't figure out why till I watched him tear into an apple one day :)

Never had problems with Pears, but had bunch of pups that would tear every Tomato off the vine they could fine. Little buggers were addicted to them.

Brewer, acorns? Man that's hardcore. I can just imagine some dog constipated trying to pass an acorn... when suddenly out the poop shoot and it's ricocheting off the kennels.

I have the same problem except our oak trees is over my kennel and they are the huge acorn type, my dogs are afraid to stick their head out right now those things hurt when they fall, IT doesn't seem to hurt them when they eat'em though.

As a kid, my Springer loved apples. We had an apple tree in the back yard. She was tied on a wire, like a clothes line, and a pully so she could run from the house to the back fence. Well, we had an apple tree there. She would run over to the newly fallen apple and proceed to eat it until another one fell. We had a yard full of half eaten apples. Well don't you know the squirrels like them too. One squirrel would sit an eat one of Brandy's apples, not 18" from her. She would bark, tug, pull, rush the squirrel to catch/chase away, but the DUMB squirrel knew she couldn't reach her. It drove Brandy nuts, and probably the neighbors also. One winter night my father put Brandy in the garage with a bussel of apples, the next morning there was only a half bussel left. Can you spell tummy ache?

My dogs seem to pass on the fruit but they wont pass up a pecan. Pretty funny how they have figured out how to get the meat out and leave the shells at least the female has it pretty well figured out LOL!!!
