Grim news from mtnwaykennels...

Post by mtnwaykennel »

Guys and gals ... My Iron Eagle female was shot tonight while running on my father-n-laws farm.
The guy that shot her thought she was a coyote.... hmmmm....
I guess the eagle half brother half sister cross that was planned this month is out of the question...
Better days we have seen .. and better days we will see again I am sure.

Did this guy even have permission to be killing coyotes. I am afraid I would have to push this one. How many yotes have you seen sounding on track....that is if she was tracking. Either way this guy would be warned at the very least and charged with trespassing the next time on property. Good luck and sorry to hear it. cya, Paul

 Again sorry to hear about that bro. Make him pay is all I have to say, make him pay for his recklessness and unconcern for other's property. It may be easy for you to find another dog, but not another Leah.

I hate to hear about you're loss, with that being said there aint no way he thought you're beagle was a coyote. If it was me he would be wearing his nose all over his shirt  Ive killed a lot of Coyotes and aint none of them looked nothin like a beagle :!:
If you don't breed for hunt sell you're beagles and buy a POODLE AND SOME PERFUME! GUN DOG'S that's all that matters. The rest will fall in place.

If one can't tell the difference between a yote and a beagle, they should not be allowed to own a gun. Sorry for your loss because of someone's stupidity.

That really is awful and senseless. If this guy doesn't know the difference between a yote and a hound then he shouldn't be pack'n. I sure wouldn't want him deer hunting anywhere near me. Let us know how it turns out. If he won't make it right get a hold of the authorities. No sense in getting yourself in trouble although I understand it would be easy to knock this a$$wipe up side the head.

Ditto on that. Sounds like he was trigger happy, plain and simple.

Like another said, if you mistake a beagle for a coyote then something is seriously wrong with your judgement.
