shoulda paid ur money and took it farther u would win that easy!evidently those guys dont have a clue how to read u may help ur cause by buying them some hooked on phonics for later trials lol!so easy to call this.. 1= DOG IN THICKET!2=dog barks 3 times ..3-=judge sees rabbit or plural. uh lets see if only one dog is in there at worst he can give u a strike even if he hates u lol. BUT THATS jump strike all day long every day!some dog had to flush it fromj the setup .. sure wasnt the dogs that wasnt in there lol!

There is a bad misconception to the Little Pack Rule Book. I've read it from front to back and it say's nothing about producing a "line", and nothing about running a "line" It says "Produce a Rabbit". If you saw it it is produced, then you begin counting 15 seconds. The check is the next scoreing position. You had yourself a Jump Strike. I would have paid the $50.

It is a bad situation..this just happened so I guess I can go on with it..never did that and don't know the how to's of all it but..if I do it will just cause hard feelings and I don't want to cause trouble. I just hate it for the ol dog..just feel he should get what he gets ya know.


When you do go on what all takes place? Never known of anyone doing that. Do they run the whole hunt over? I wouldn't want to do that because I would be taking places away from other deserving dogs..not sure how all that works just heard someone say that is what they do.

from what i heard your dog went the opposite way from where rabbits were seen while still on the clock the judge with your dog didnt see rabbits what if he leaves your dog to go to the other dogs and the rabbits then your dog blows out another rabbit going the other way the judge has to stay with your dog full 3 minutes its got to be a minus unless your dog pulls which it didnt in the 3 minutes it might not been same rabbit

Since the rabbit was seen and only one dog was there at the time and it was flushed from its cover then it is definetly a jump strike. The only way I could see it being a minus is if nobody saw a rabbit AND no line was established .

nkybeagler-glad you got the first hand story. That is wrong. Let me guess heard it from the judge? Others from this board were on the cast..all the handlers agreed with me.LOL Look I don't care..Just throwing it out there for information for others to have if it happens to them. It is a good club with good people just a bad call. This is a message board for information and that is what I am doing. Maybe others will learn from my experience.

Here is the bottom line..
IF your dog opens and produces a rabbit or rabbits in 3 minutes you can NOT minus the hound. He doesn't have to show line..just produce a rabbit.

If it was the only dog in the thicket and the judge saw even one of the two rabbits its a plain stike and jump in my book. Some people need to refresh on the rules. Let us know how it was scored. I would like to know.

The NKC would have got my 50 bucks on this one - No mention of a line anywhere in the rules
