Good Point SawBriar. A combination of exercises would probably produce the most effective routine. Just like we use to get dogs that came from them there MTNS of Pineville. They would not show there foot speed sometimes for a while until them muscles started adjusting to the flat lands.

i got the idea for the kiddy pool from one of my hounds, was doing a summer run in fairly cool conditions about 70 well ran a bunny a couple of circles then hound went into big puddle and layed down.Sooo ole harv figured a kiddy pool would be a good way for my hounds to cool in the summer.i'have had pups raise heck in the rain for a potty walk.In my expeiance beagles will cross water or do what ever it takes when after a bunny but all in all don't much care for it.

Swimming is more rehab for hounds than pleasure, no stress on limbs at all. I have used it for a few years and love the results. Most dogs learn too love it especially in 90 degree temps ;)

I haven't gotten a kiddy pool for the back yard yet, but my hounds do love to cool off in puddles when we're out in the field. And it's not always the cleanest water :yuck: I think it's a good idea to have a nice clean pool for them to cool off in-especially in this heat!
