Anybody Else Break a Tritronics G2 receiver

Post by DIXIEDOG »

I just had 1 Tritronics G2 receiver break out of my set of three. My dog came back in and the shocking unit was dangling, somehow 1 of the collar strap loops broke off. Just wondering how often this happens and if I'm the only one. :(

Glad you didn't loose it in the field.

Actually it wouldn't have made much difference if I lost it in the field. I still have to buy a new one the warranty is out on my old one and the new G2 collars can't be repaired like the previous Tritronics models. I guess at least by it not coming off I didn't pollute my running grounds.

I just sent one in for the same thing. I had a new one in a matter of just a few days. The collar was only about 3 months old.

I've got a new G2 EXP 6 dog Trashbreaker and have never had any problems w/ it . Only problems I heard about were right when they came out w/ the EXP there were some complaints of bugs/glitches. Guess it pays to wait a few months like I did before buying one.

Anyone have problems with the tone? I have a 3 dog unit and all the tones are at different volumes. The dogs seem to hear the tones but there could be certain situations where they may not hear it and I have to shock them without needing too. I'm thinking about sending a couple back or calling them. Other than that they have been the greatest training tool I've ever used.

I have broke one or more of the loops on 3 of my 6 dog g2s I plan on sending them back to tri tronics to see if they can be fixed other than that they have been great.

My volumes vary a little, but I'm sure the dogs don't have a problem hearing them, they're around they're neck, inches from their big floppy ears.

I have a two dog G2 and an EXP six dog unit. Never had a problem with either. The tone is loud on both units but the EXP is really loud. I can hear it about 40 yards away if the wind is blowing right.
