We just put the wraps on the 2003 PKC Futurity Championship for coonhounds, held last weekend in Sesser, Illinois.

The Futurity is held each year and offers a cash purse based on $2 for each pup registered each Futurity year plus 75% of the entry fees at the Championship. This year's purse was based on pups registered in 2001. The Futurity is open to any dog born between November 1st three (3) years prior to the current year and October 31st of the current year. Pups have to be Futurity certified, meaning they pay $25 to permanently register the pup and they have to win $100 in PKC events in order to be eligible.

And, the owner of the sire and of the dam of the Futurity Champioship-winning pup each receive 5% of the award won by the pup they produced.

As soon as we begin to receive significant numbers of beagle litter registrations, we will offer a Futurity Championship for beagles as well.

I thought you might enjoy seeing what's waiting for you down the road when you litter register your pups with PKC. The fee is $7.00 plus $2 per pup.

Also, we continue to offer "Foundation Stock" registration for beagles at the $15 fee.
