Thats what the Chicken and Dog Fighters thought at one time. And the horse traders when it came to Horse Slaughter.

I am a member of PETA. I participated in a PETA event this evening, and most evenings between 4 and 5 pm. I am a member of PETA and participate as often as I possibly can in PETA activities. I am a member of People Eatin' Tasty Animals!!!!!!!!!!This evening it was People Eatin' Tasty Chicken, last night People Eatin' Tasty Pork Chops, tomorrow I may go nuts and be People Eatin' Tasty Mixed Up Concoctions of Animals in Cylindrical Form, better known as HOT DOGS!!! BTW, this is a good discussion, let's be responsible and keep it as civil and levelheaded as possible. I believe that GOd gave us animals to work for us (which is what our hounds do when they give us opportunity to put meat on the table) and to eat. I have to think some more on the fighting roosters and then roasting them, but it's better than adding them to the pile, I guess. Dogs pull sleds, chase and retrieve game, herd livestock, guard our homes and protect, even act as pack mules in some places, and a million other things, incl. determine when someone is about to have a seizure. To train them to kill one another, besides being something that just goes against the values I've been taught, seems like a tremendous waste of an animal that could serve us much better in some other capacity.

First off what makes them think they ever really had the right to fight animals to their death? If it's legal in some area's, It still doesn't make it right. I'm sure the creator didn't intend them for that purpose. And because its humans enjoy their gory death still doesn't make it okay.

I don't think Rabbit Hunting will EVER be a crime, or hunting other small game for that matter! It helps control their overall population, and I'd agree as seeing that as a part of Nature.
Tell that to the Folks in the Northwest!!!!
They didnt think that Runnin thier Dogs would ever be outlawed either!!!!
They used to be able to Run Cougar and bear with hounds not any more its against the LAW!!!!
Folks with the attitude it will never happen here Set back on thier haunches and POW thier it was!!!
They are even restricted to Where they can Ride a horse Now, Having to Place a Diaper on a horse before they can ride it in the Wilderness areas along with bying a Permit to do so.
Me Personally I Do not and never Will Condone Dog Fighting but to each thier Own....
Just Watch The attitude about it will never happen here because it can and WILL if we let it!!!!!!
From Field to Show and Show to Field the way it should be

Hunting and running dogs and training and fighting dogs are two completely different issues. You can't compare the two, and it sickens me to have a sport i love be mentioned in the same sentence as dog fighting.
I for one think it is great the government has to regulate certain freedoms because many people don't have the proper brian capacity to make wise choices.

Excuse me? That's the best you can come back with. It wasn't even worthy of a reply, you were probably better off ignoring what I said.

I need to get a clue? Why because I don't support cock fighting?

You didn't come back with any explanations of any sorts supporting your argument, lol. So maybe you are the one who needs to get a clue.

ive read in cock fighting history it has been around since we probably found America i can get a date but they use to fight them for kings to watch and the ones that died was put in temples so it has been around longer than people relize...and alot of yall dont get the fact dogs dont have to be put in a pit or chickens either...if u turned aloose ur game chickens everyone one of them would fight to death and there is still TONS! of chicken fighting going on even tho it is out lawed and if everyone stopped like the law said they are just either going to turn them aloose out in the middle of no where or knock them in the head...and i know not many law inforcement even take u in for fighting them they just show up at the fights if they get a call and tell everyone to leave and take the owner in so there ya go ;)

I should'nt even reply to this since this a beagle board. But here goes. The orginal thread was about dog fighting which I know nothing about and don't care nothing about. But when I hear people speak of cock fighting who know nothing about it I get really upset to say the least. I don't expect anyone who has never been around game chickens to fully understand, but they should realize that and not come so quick with a opinion. Game chickens are one of the most fasinating things on this earth. I hear people talk of grit and desire in their beagles, its the same thing with game chickens. How many people have a beagle that if he/she got loose in the 100 degree sun and you was'nt home would run till they droped or you caught them. To make a long story short game chickens are no different than a good beagle. You can't make them fight its born natural and good or bad its WHAT THEY LOVE TO DO.

Quick question : Do you use gaffs or a knife on your game chicken ??? or their natural heel only :?:
