Wow I already pay over 40$ for 40 lbs. I hope it doesn't effect my dogs brand.

It will most likely be affecting every brand that has corn in it. Rising corn prices are driving the price increases. :(

id say the use of Ethanol as the additive has increased demand. Id say this is a bad year for corn even with the prices high. Saw some the other day that looked like fescue growing. The lack of rain has hurt it bad.

Big oil bought up all the corn futures, so they can manipulate the prices, this willl keep the price at the pumps high even in the future when Ethanol impacts could have helped. Boys money runs the show in everything & they are in the pockets of both major parties & we all sit back & are too lazy to raise any sand about it. How long has it been since anyone on here even went to your on local county meeting that is open to the public. We are too busy with our own agenda to become involved or try to make a difference, I am gulty also but that is just the way it is. In the old days these guys would get tar & feathered & thrown in the river or something.
Farmers won't make any more profit than they ever have, just like milk, it is the highest I have ever seen it at the store, about $4.25 a gallon, yet dairy farmers around here can't make ends meet. Seems to be the new American way !

Starting to shell corn around here already. Everybodies afraid that once it starts raining the stalks won't be strong enough to hold it up. Turned brown pretty quick.

It's not just corn. Wheat, soy beans (if your feed has it) and all feed ingrediants have gone up. The price increase is from a number of things. The seed cost more this year to plant because of the shortage last year. Fertilizer went up about 15%. The fuel to plant, spray, harvest, ship, etc. is high. The electricity or gas (natural) that is used in drying has been increased. The shortage allows them to charge more (droughts in south, floods in midwest). The government also pays people to not grow corn and other crops and to destroy part of what they do grow. Last but not least, with the increase of wages (min. wage going up) you are having to pay the stock boy and cashier more to buy the dog food. This is a complex problem, alot more than ethanol.
