Ninja or Turbo?
Just for fun as I try to survive this rediculous heat in middle TN.
If you could breed to either Turbo or Ninja - who would you pick?

Turbo for same reason as Bill. Don Hoog, the breeder and owner of Turbo lost count on how many FC's he's made. Just as Ninja, he's also had some IFC's too. The latest is Greenwall Reggie. He might aslo have another one if we send our Turbo male up north.
I would breed to either one. If I could, I breed the two together but mother nature wouldn't allow it.

I'VE GOT SOME DOGS THAT ARE GONNA HURT SOME FEELINGS!!!!! I just hope it's not mine. Home of Wild Hare Kennels and FC Creek Woods Blue.

Again, just for fun! Don't take into consideration where the dogs were located, how far of a drive to breed to them, etc., etc. Just imagine you have your best female in heat and both studs are standing there in front of you....who would you pick.

i bet ya turbo would be the bitch in that relation ship.....hehehehehe
both were nice hounds, my problem with turbo was he was never really deer broke, if he felt like running one he would. also look at what ninja produced in his short life...WOW

I've owned hounds up close to both....I really like the Turbo hunt/desire, but the Ninja hounds have all that AND they're easier to train/handle/break. Pretty even overall, but the edge in regards to tractability definitely goes with Ninja.......and the Ninja hounds have shown a little more line control.!
Actually, I heard a story (I wasn't there, so...) Turbo was such an aggressive breeder, he once nailed a bitch he was tied up next to on a tailgate...and the bitch wasn't even in heat.bill (flint river ) wrote:

Don told me he did eventually deer-break Turbo, but he put it off too long, and that had he broken him young, he would have made FC a lot sooner than he did.both were nice hounds, my problem with turbo was he was never really deer broke, if he felt like running one he would.
I think extreme desire leads to a lot of "different game" running, and that's not really such a bad trait to breed in if one is prepared to break them.
IFC Maravic's Blue Ninja, on the other hand, is in the Canadian Beagle on Fox Hall of Fame as a reproducer of Beagle Fox Champions, too. IFC Haunted Hill Shaker was a Beagle Fox Champion himself, and also BFC Hall of Fame reproducer. Just some tidbits.
On this topic though, between Ninja and Turbo, it would be a tough decision because they were both great hounds, but I'd have to go with Ninja.
Given my choice of any hound, I'd breed to Shaker's sire - Haunted Hill Harper.

i think the last count that i seen on turbo offspring was 53 champions.japa wrote:Ninja- because it works well for me. I think Blue ninja is the all around top producer.
i'm not saying that to stir anything up because i like the stuff i see out of both of these hounds. they are both nice producers.
