PKC Hunt Results - Huntington, Texas

Lamar Denby filed the following report on the Sept. 6th PKC Beagle Event in Huntington, TX:

First, let me encourage all rabbit hunters within a reasonable driving distance to join our club and enter their hounds in these field trials. It's a lot of fun and the fellowship is great! We hold PKC licensed hunts and Large Pack club hunts.

What a great PKC hunt! Our appreciation is extended to Dale Kirkland of the Ozias community for the use of his property for a draw out place. Hunters from as far away as Dallas and Honey Island, Texas, hunted in this event. A total of 13 hounds were entered. We had 3 three dog casts and 1 four dog cast. Two casts were not in the running and were scratched. This is always regrettable, but it happens. Our Hunt Director and Judges did a marvelous job as always. Congratulation to our two cast winners!

My question is how can a club make it if they only brought in $175.00 and paid out all but $58.00

My point exactly. You also have to figure what the club has to pay for licenses and for memberships. There is only one entity making guaranteed money here and that is PKC. PKC is the ruination on clubs.
