dogs ran deer

Billi is right long before we got more Deer than rabbits, I had a pair of beagles that would run a fox or house cat if there was no rabbits. They would get bored and run something. Catfish find some deer give them a chance to run it again, and then give them a double helping of as many rabbits as you can, and then praise the heck out of them!!!!!!!!

thanks again guys so far I put the deer hide out and when they went near it I lit them up then I took them out the next day and jumped deer and walked them down the path one at a time and they just looked at me w/ fear so I guess it is working I only have till monday then the guy I bought them from will be in town to trade for new dogs .I told hiom that nj is loaded w/ deer and want to see them run here on our land .I am gonna hate like hell to get rid of these 2 dogs.I am planning on running them every day tyhis week to get true results as long as the rain holds off ,I truely would like to thank you's for all the great advise once more you saved me alot of headaches

Even after I break a dog from running Deer I give yearly " Refresher Courses " and make sure they know whats what. I do this each summer so that when Fall arrives and I am very confident. My 5 year old got a bump this year because he did not turn directly away when he crossed it but now he will come right to my legs and if we are hunting and somebody elses dogs hit junk and get lit up just the sound of them holaring will bring him back to my feet. I havent had a trash run in 2 years since I do my " Preventative Refreshers ". I have some 5 month old pups I am getting ready to take into the wild to run and you better believe Tri Tronics will be in hand when they find out what a Deer/Fox is.

here I am one week later and my one dog still runs deer .this state is to over run w/ them .I walked them down one area and the deer came out and I walked the dog across the trqail and he started to go so I lit him up and he had no intrest after that so I took him up the road and before I got out of the truck a dozen deer took off so I walked them over to the area they were in and he took off again so I shocked him again ,this dog will not learn so I think he is about to go back to the guy that sold me him
