Reddog, Im sure your dogs put the heat on them coyote, and Im also sure they wip the coyotes once they run them down. Those that know otherwise are getting a good laugh, those that dont will just be left wondering.

Again, IMO beagles are the best breed to run coyote with, but they dont run them down, and they sure dont go face to face and fight them. They keep their distance, and will only run if the coyote runs. There are coyotes that will run all day/night in front of beagles and there are others that wont.

What's amazing is, all these killer dogs out there and so many coyotes running around killing dogs. We just need to swap out some of the dogs. Dave404, work out a deal with Reddog and all your worries will be over.

I believe you live in Owasso and thats only 45 min. from me. Look me up this winter and you can either come along with us or we can come up there. You won't be disapointed.

I remember when Tom and Eva called and said they had the bitches running fox & coyote, you coulda knocked me over with a feather... ... I don't know if they fight, they mainly talk about the males killing...
Eva called said they had another litter of pups, they must be doing something right, they always are all gone...

My wife wanted to take ole Duke to get sheared cause his coat was so thick and there was undercoat not coming out. I told her no way, that thick hair was what saved his butt, literally. Coyotes will go for the throat & butt when they get one surrounded.

A buddy of mine had yotes bothering his horses. He had some fellers with a couple walkers and 4 greyhounds come put some hurt on them. Said, the walkers got them moving from the woods and when in view, they cut the sight-hounds loose to run them down. Said the greyhound is a more aggressive hound than he ever thought...

You are correct. The females don't kill but the males do. The two females I got from Tom and Eva I use for rabbit and hare. The first female Lilly, Had a litter 8 weeks ago, I bred her with a patch dog that has a hard time turning down a hot coyote track. I'm keeping one of the pups ( a big lemon male ) to run coyote. The rest will be rabbit dogs. I hope to catch up with you on the Island this fall.
