I agree with wildhare2 I have Dogtra 1804 and haven't had any problem with it and really love them and wish they would make a six dog collar set because now I'm running more dogs and four not cutting it .wildhare2 wrote:Just to throw my two cents in, We've bought 3 Dogtra Shock collars sets and love them. Never have had any problems with any of the 3. 2-4 dog systems and 1 3 dog system. They hit very hard, in fact we've been told not to hit on any higher than 6. I've watched a dog run a deer and let them get out 1/2 mile or better and then hammered it. The dog started doing back flips and screaming like he'd been shot. I've never understood why they put that darn tone thing on a shock collar anyway. If I have to hit tone, then they are getting shocked. We've also bought 2-2 dog pup trainers from them and they hit hard enough to run them on the big dogs. They also have a buzz feature for pups instead of immediately shocking a puppy. The collar vibrates and then if that don't work you can shock them. Hell I think we got 1/2 mile on those little collars. If I were you guys I would give dogtra a shot. What can it hurt?

I have both the TT clasic 70 G2 6 dog
and a Dogtra 200 series gold 2 dog the Dogtra is going on 6 years and NO problems at all!!!!
I havnt had any Real problems with my TT But I also think the range is better on the Dogtra More kick at twice the distance as the TT if Dogtra had made a 6 dog i would not have prchased my TT....
From Field to Show and Show to Field the way it should be
Re: New G2S Problems
I've had both. Ran the TT 1/2 mile multi sport, an old 1 mile, 2 dog beagler, the 1804 Dogtra and now the G2 Trashbreaker Exp. The Dogtra was alright, encountered one receiver problem early.....then worked good until the range was becoming inconsistent for the terrain I run in, at just over 2 years old. Unit was durable and held power well in extreme cold. What I didn't care for was that any problems resulted in sending the whole unit off to California, and of course the range just not being suitable for the area and conditions I hunt/run. I will say it logged a lot of time in pretty extreme weather. So far I like the G2 Trashbreaker, holds up well in the extreme cold and although I've never walked out the range (line of sight) to check it, it appears to have much more range than the Dogtra unit did (which it should given it is a 2 mile unit compared to the Dogtra 1 mile). Now I did have one receiver problem with the new Trashbreaker but it was a faulty battery and TT replaced it quickly and free of charge. This will be the second season coming up with the G2, so hopefully it holds up. What I like about it is, obviously the range, the tone feature, quick charge (although those cradles look and feel cheap) and the fact that if a receiver craps out or I lose one, I don't have to send the whole unit out of town for repair........just order another receiver.
It's not that life is short......it's just that we're dead for such a long, long time...

Re: New G2S Problems
I have a g2 exp with just 3 collars on it so far. Have had it less than a year. I was already wondering if it was shocking anywhere near the distance it should. I also nooticed that the tones were all three at different levels, some very , very, very quiet. I took a dog out last night that I had for about two weeks. When it was time to go, all dogs came in but him. After a few calls, I tried to juice him on 2 and heard nothing. I moved it up to 4 and got a reaction. He started away and I hit him a time or two more in a short distance, but that was it. Could not shock him again. The last hit I had couldnt have been over about 100-150 yards away because I hunt this place regularly and know the terrain well. Long story short, I am now one dog less as well as one collar less. I think I will test the other two tonight after work. You reckon TT stands by their product enough to replace my lost collar?
My guess is that the other two will have a short working distance........

Re: New G2S Problems
i don't know why you are having so much trouble with yours. I bought mine early april of this year. I haven't had any trouble with mine so far with charging and range.
I do notice that one collar is a tad louder than the other = talking bout the tone sounds. That's about it.
Have you tried calling the place where you bought them from. I thought you have 1 or 2 year warrenty on them. They should replace them or fix them for free. Keep on them they will eventually do something about it. Keep calling them.

Classic 70s rule, and g2s drool.I will trade anyone even for 3 dog classic 70s.I am in the service biz, no service no sale to me.I dont understand why 50% of people have great collars and the others dont.Just goes back too the old saying"Lesson bought lesson taught".At least i got some nice button up shirts out of the deal. I really love tri-tronic products too. They just dont jump thru many hoops as of late.
..I still hope for some resolution. They are under warrenty after all.Guess if my dogs handled better i would not need em anyhoo.

Re: New G2S Problems
Jim,
I have my 5 collars and a brand new transmitter on its way back as we speak. They told me my old transmitter passed the range test but I tested it with my old unit twice on a flat road and couldn't get the EXP to tone at 1/10th mile. I was very adiment that I was going to send it right back to them if it failed my test once I received it back again. They ended up shipping a new one to me. Hold your ground or you may not get results. I also told them I would be testing it with a couple witnesses. I delt with a gal named Dawn and she was very good and listened. I am going to sell the brand new transmitter and buy a trashbreaker and single collar then program my five other collar to complete the set. Probably sell the new G2 EXP (1 mile) transmitter on ebay. It will be brand new.
Good luck....

Re: New G2S Problems
I just got my Trashbreaker G2 back after the second trip to TT. It didnt work any better. A couple receivers would work at .3 of a mile on tone but would not shock. One would do niether. I have had their Classic 70 G2 loaner for a few weeks now and I can only get .3 of a mile out of it but it does work. I called them again and they are replacing my transmitter and all 6 receivers with new ones. I hope it works.

how long did you hold the button for? When I tested mine. The further out I went the longer the person holding remote had to press the button for it to get a full tone sound. If they just tapped the button quickly the blinking light on the color would light up with no tone. When he held the button for longer time lets say 4 to 5 seconds it then beeped. Also the further out you go you may have to up the level to 3. Level 1 is a weaker signal. You see what I'm trying to say. This is just my opinion not a fact for sure. Any thoughts on this guy's?
