Germy I have known you a long time. You just take things too far sometimes. My full intention was to quite you down so you wouldn't make the AKC side look stupid like you did back a few months ago. My guess is your streched out on Perks and Tabs and got the rattle jaw. As for remembering it or not forgeting it , WHY WOULD I CARE? You going to use your influece to get me picked up at trial? LOL!!!

Good rabbit hounds prove themselves to those who know and care. FBT!

I think they complain because they are sore losers. What is field trialing all about ,going out running dogs and being with friends. I am not a die hard trialer by any means but when I do go if I get beat I get beat. I shake the winers hand and congratulate him.I am used to losing and I don't blame judges. I blame my dog for getting his butt stomped. I don't claim to have the best hounds because I certainly do not but I will pay10 or 15 dollars for a saturdayof fun. Or evan 50 dollars depending on how many hounds I bring.Guys you can't win them all so my advice to you is enjoy it. Don't have hard feelings about losing its part of life. I compliment these judges because you know there job is not easy.

I can understand that Rob. I can't help what i love to run and my opinion should have been good. I wasn't planning on posting anymore until you called me out. I want more people to come and try the mid-west because of the fairnest. That was all I was getting at. I understand you still run both formats. I shouldn't post much on these things, because everytime I do someone turns the post around on me. It should have never went the way it did for someone with experience in both formats telling them there experience. It was crazy. I am done. Jeremy

Getting back to the topic, I think the majority of time people think they get cheated it is because of 2 things:

1. They don't really evaluate their own dogs correctly

2. The judge just doesn't really know hounds.

I have run some of both AKC and ARHA.

I always feel a little cheated in AKC because it seems like the majority of judges look for accomplishment all through the trial. Then, they get to the winner's pack, and start getting critical, picking dogs up based on mistakes. I think by the time you get to the winner's pack you should already have the junk out of there if you did a good job judging. I know this isn't really cheating, but it sure leaves me feeling that way.

In ARHA, I think by far, the majority of judges are honest. Unfortunately, the few that do cheat get by with it because no one (Watchdog Com., E-Board, Del) is willing to take them on.

i think the biggest problem in arha is that too many clubs, moh's ect. are too worried about getting the hunt done and over with as fast as possible, and by doing that they let judges that are crooked,or just flat out dont know what a rabbit dog is judge and will send a cast to a spot that has no rabbits at all then the know nothing judge picks his buddies dog or the dog of the guy that intimidated him the most..........

prime example,i wont say wich state hunt it was but i went to a state hunt earlier this year,100 plus opens,i drove 6.5 hrs,got to go out with 2 or my 6 dogs that i took, went out with spot to a small wooded lot with no cover at all, watched a dog run squirrel track for 20 some minute till it finaly minussed out, with 10 minutes to go,we moved down the road and had one short rabbit race.................

then the kicker too it all, bandits cast was a 5 dog cast, one of the best judges in arha judgin,i thought,ok ol boy,do your thing and bring it homebandit and two other hounds went in the brush with the judge, who by the way was by himself, the other two dogs stayed with teh gallery, one sit down, the other mingled around the brush behind us never getting out of sight for 5 minutes then came out and stood beside us,well,a lil female with bandit struck in,the rabbit was up,the two spectator dogs pulled in and they ran it till the hour ended, the judge admitted he missed checks on some but got what he could, bandit tied 150 to 150,i thought,ok,we have to get it,the dog that tied was the one that stood with us the entire 15 minutes, well, the judge picked the dog that stood there, when i asked why,he said that he had the other three with him, they all hunted and he fogured since he didnt see the other dog that he maust have hunted harder in the brush where he couldnt see him, well, everyone in the cast including the guy that handled the winning dog told the judge politely that the dog did not hunt period, but, the judge said sorry,i already made my pick,i cant change it.............

was i cheated,no,i dont feal i was,the way i see it,if the moh would have slowed down a lil,and sent another judge with us,then that judge may have seen the dog not huntin and the right dog would have came back............

i am not bashin the judge in this cast,he is one of the best i have ever ran under,it was just a bad deal,he did the best he could by himself, but, anyone that wouldn't have looked at the big picture would have swore he cheated,so,sometimes yeah, judges cheat, but sometimes, like in this cast, things just happen...........

for the record though, they did get the hunt over in one day

Ill start by proudly saying the hunt Danny is talking about was the Pa state hunt. and the dog he is crying about was my dog. We had awsome help from neighboring clubs and from are own club. The same dozen judges you seen at the PA state hunt are the same dozen you see at the clubs threw Ohio and the Big Five hunts. And if you took an overall survey on the casts that got running verses the cast that didnt, it was overwhelming good. As for fair judging, for the hunt being held in PA I dont think any PA beagler won any of the classes this year. I cant speak for everyone but Im all for a one day hunt verses a dragged out two dayer. The only commit that I would agree with you is that their was an awsome judge out for that pack.. The dogs pounded for 55 min. Ya he might of missed a little pissin on trees for the first five min. But When I asked how the dogs did I was told that he felt my dog contributed to the race a little more than the others. I remember the five dogs in that cast and they all where excellent dogs. And any one of them dogs could of one it. But to cry about a coin flip call and a State hunt finishing in a day makes me want to just give you a big box of tissues or tampons take your pick.
