To me it is not worth the money. Put a good Leupold low power on it and be done with it. If you want a real grat deal and spend under $200.00 buy the Bushnell (formerly Bausch and Laumb) 3200 10X fixed power.
Or buy a VXIII in a 2.5 X 8 power. Or thereabouts. JMHO

Good luck

Bushnell's holo sight is made by e-otech and is half the price. I have used mine on my AR's and on a 20 gauge slug gun held up to the recoil just fine. If you are looking for a sight for CQB or just range shooting a holo or red dot is hard to beat. If you are going to use the AR for coyotes or other hunting a 3x9x40 scope is all you need.

They are worth every cent if your targets are going to be within 200 yds. As mentioned above the Bushnell sight is very similar but it isn't as tough as the Eotech, the Eotech has an aluminum shield over the plastic housing and is virtually indestructible. I've had great luck with my Eotech and would recommend one, I also have a couple Bushnell's and I've yet to have any problems with them either but those are mounted on guns that see little field use so I don't know how they would stand up to rough handling. If you go with the Eotech you want to stick with the AA battery version, the battery life is longer and you can buy cheap batteries anywhere, not all stores carry "N" batteries and they cost alot more, you will recoup the extra $20 or so in batteries easily if you use it much.
