I think extra Mouth and Big nose go hand in hand. But they have to have alot of brains also. I dont want my dogs messing with Tracks they cannot produce a Rabbit. I have the best snow dog that I have ever had. And she will cold trail a little, But 99% of the time she or one of the other dogs will jump Rabbit in close proximitty of where she trailing ,That I can live with all day Long. But I have had other dogs that simply Barked where a rabbit has been but couldnt follow where he was going. So I will take a litle extra bark if I know I will soon get a jump. You cannot train for nose, A weak nose may get a little better with experience but my opinion they either have it or they dont. I work 5 -6 days a week and I cannot pick the days I hunt so when I can go Lost rabbits or cant run really Drives me insane. Just ask the guys I Hunt with they know how Iam. If they cant get it done we will find something that can. We have put thousands of miles on Trucks looked at 100s of so-called Snow dogs and believe me when I say they are Hard to get.

Good video again Mark. Nice to see someone actualy saying that NOSE is more important than correct use of mouth.

In my book, nose is everything, without it nothing else matters.

On a side note, tell that gunner to put a glove on! In this country you learn real fast to NEVER touch any metal with your bare hand when it gets cold out :(

You just gave me an idea for a new and improved reason for missing, "I would'a had him if my dang trigger finger hadn't been frozen" :)

I believe you are referring to the pic of the big, ugly guy holding the pistol at the beginning of the this post. I usually wear a glove on my left hand but rarely on my shooting hand. I keep my hand in a "hand warmer" or in my pocket holding on to a chemical warmer. Maybe I should wear a glove cause its not like I shoot any better w/o one. (1-13). And consequently, I did miss two opportunities at rabbits cause I holstered my gun to warm my hand up. :bash:
