Irish Setter - Buck Tracker for long wet/cold day hunts
Muck Boot - Edgewater for warmer/dry weather off season running and around the kennel chores

How do the muck boots hold up to punctures from brush?

I love my muck boots. I have the chore model. My feet sweat in them on 20 degree days while rabbit hunting.

But briars will rip the upper neoprene up if you dont where chaps or briar pants over them.

I got the Muck Boots about a year ago, the woody model, really liked the warmth, comfort and dryness..... but the bottom of the boot is seperating from the top only after a year, that bums me out..... don't know if they generally last longer or if I just got a bad pair, but for $100 bucks or whatever they cost I'd hoped they would have lasted longer.

Irish Setters are great boots but nothing beats LaCrosse boots. They last long keep your feet warm in winter with only normal cotton socks on and wont get wet unless you have water go up over your whole boot.

I can tell you this NOT ROCKY. I have wasted money on two pair and both have leaked. I have a cousin that works for a gas company and he spends most of his time in the hills. He told me that Irish setters were the only thing he has found that would hold up. They will be my next pair.

Yep my experience as well.I've used the Lacrosse Burly Classic for years.Best boot I've found.Mucks do not hold up unless you stay on the paths or on a horse :-) I've heard very good things about Irish Setter boots.May give them a try as I wore out the last Burly Classiscs I have after years of use.

I got a pair of Irish Setters in the fall before dear season....

I got them because the are made by Redwing, and if you do research, you won't find very many negative things about them.

So far my feet have been very warm, and dry. I got wet once, because I went in a little too deep. They are extremly light. Especially for the insulation they have. They are very comfortable. I have had one probelm with mine. They seem to bite my ankle when I walk in the mountains. It's something about the way they are put together, that creates a fold right on the top of my ankles. I would have never noticed it until I got in the steep stuff, I am hopeing that they wil wear in and it will not be a long term problem.

I have a pair of 3859 Shadow Trek with 800 Gram insulation. I would say they are warmer than my previous pair of rockies with 1000 Grams.

MUCK, are the best boots bar none. I'll put my muck boots against any. More expensive boots don't mach up to the muck boots. I live in michigan and run all winter, and my feet never get cold, but if you don't wear a good liner sock you might get cold because your feet will sweat. I'm sure there are better boots for differnt type of terrian. but for warmth and wet wheather ,there is no other choice for me.

GOOD LUCK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
