I work on the oil rigs and seen a lot of the guys wearing a big tread tall green boot at -45C I did some research and they are made by Dunlop, a rubber neoprene type boot, lite no liner and very warm, most days you can were them with no socks and tread pattern is very deep making them feel like your walking on clouds. here in Canada they are about 200 a pair, I am on my 4th season with the same pair and no holes yet. I believe they warranty poke holes but not rips or tears, I do not really think they can be ripped though. We buy them here from IMP marine but any marine store should carry them.

Muck Boots all the way. I have had mine for over 3 years and wear them most of the time when I hunt. I have the Chore boot. Gets a little hot on me in the warm months though. the only draw back to Muck boots is that they are pull on boots and do not have the greatest ankle support. Having said that, I would not trade them for 3 pairs of Rockys or 5 pairs of LaCross. I bought my brother a pair of the Woody Armor for Christmas. They are nice boots. Snake bite tested and can be worn in warmer weather. I sell the Chore hi-cut for &78 and the Woody Armor for $125. This is just an example of price. The only problem i know Bill has had is if you spill a 5 gallon bucket of water in them, the water stays in them until you pore it out

Lacross makes a lightly insulated rubber pull over boot. They zip up the front with heavy duty steel zipper. These boots run about $40. You put an old broke in pair of shoes or sneakers in the bottom. Your feet will stay warm and dry in ANY conition all for under $40. Ive owned the muck boots, Ive owned the $350 rockies. These keep your feet warmer and dry in the rain and snow. If your feed sweat easy these might get to hot for walking but fine for standing around.
A little bulky, but if you use light sneakers, the boots will be light weight.
Save your money, keep your feet warm!
