Governers refusing aid

Post by beaglechase »

Governers are stating they will refuse money from stimulus package, is that good government, others can't wait to get their share so should those states that refuse their share of the stimulus bill , should be divided by the states that accept the money...evidently those refuse the money don't need it?

I know this would go against liberal thinking but how about giving that money back to the tax payers rather than just spending it?

Also, the aid is for short term, and the states would have to pick up the slack after the "Stimulus" aid runs out, so they are smart enough to know better than the liberal way of thinking, and know in the long run it will cost them much, much more money than what they will receive.

Spoken as a true liberal. The government must help everyone because no one can do for themselves. I guess the only good liberal answer would be the rich ones and that's where the money should be confiscated from and given to the rest. Oh wait, that's kinda what you implied when you started this post. Liberals are just like Zebras, they never change their spots.

Beaglechase, your posts add something to my day when I read them as well. I find out what CNN had on that day and I don't have to suffer through watching it. Instead I get an example of people who actually buy into it and are even willing to regurgitate it as if it were an original thought that had value.

THE SCHOOLS THAT ARE FALLING DOWN,

Rufus, thats too funny man, schools are falling down. Sounds like a nursery rhyme...

CLUE: There are no schools falling down, more liberal spew from the desks of MSNBC....

Reminds me of a lawyer here in Michigan running for Governor about 11 years ago or so...he was once Jack Kevorkian's lawyer...his platform??? OUR ROADS ARE FALLING APART...nothing about business, excessive taxation, illegals, nooooooo. Roads.

Nice one Rufus, made me laugh.

The 1st amendment allows the usual liberal narcissistic "I think.." which is how they start all their sentences.

The second amendment protects us from implementing "I think"

I've had 15 schools go up within a 10 mile radius of my house in the last 5 years. They are huge. Some have naditoriums and 4 or 5 baseball diamonds around them. Maybe we ought to tear some of them down and send them to the areas that don't have them.

Tell me this, how can the education budget increase every year and yet there are schools in Southeastern Kentucky that are going unfunded? What are the democrats doing with all that money ( Over 42 billion in 2001 going up to over 56 billion per year in '05, '06, '07, '08 and that's just Federal money)? Democrats are such champions of education, how could this be?

Can you imagine Rush Limbaugh(bimbo) on CNN, now I know where your ideaology comes from, and who the republican party is promoting, and I couldn't help but laugh as I looked down the page, I still see Sarah Palin's name on there, and that Rush himself, I thought with all the idealogy, they can't find anyone competitive to run, with the democratic party had 2 candidates who could have defeated McCain. once again you seperated yourselves as conservatives not republicans, yet you know the old saying about the duck....   :D

I heard on one of the news channels before Obama gave his speech on Tuesday night if I remember right that some of the governors were questioning the long term requirements on their state budget after the stimulas money was used up. The govenors felt it would cost them more in the long run then they were going to recieve from the stimulas.

If that is true it is an example of government expanding its power over the states to mandate how they use their budgets.
