False Pregnancy???????????????

This isnt about a beagle but a dog is pretty much a dog when it comes to this. We have a young female lab that had her first heat cycle in Feb. We noticed the first blood on the 15th. She was penned up during her heat cycle and the only dog she was around was another lab that has been fixed which she is around all the time. This last weekend we noticed that her hind teats were somewhat full and you can squeeze some milk from her hind nipples. She is not showing in any other way and acts 100% normal. The only reason we even noticed was she layed down in the yard so my girlfriend could rub her belly and she noticed it. It acts like a false pregnancy but ive never seen one this late in the game. If she would of gotten bred she should of had pups in late April or early May. Anyone experience anything like this?

I've had some come to milk some time after being rode by other females they were kenneled with during their heat. The hormones can really mess a female up...

Monte told me about his female that would come in heat and only allow one male to breed her(she would fight anyother), this male had also been fixed, she would play and present herself to him and he would mount and knot her, then she would go through the whole false pregnancy thing. Your male may have done the same thing.

got a female thought she bred once made milk temp drop around right time but never gained much weight no pups.

happened to one of my females too. made milk and everything.

I had a little female weiner dog do this many years ago after she had 2 straight litters. She also hide acouple of the kids shoes in her krate bed and treated them like pups, and threw a fit when the boys tryed to get thier shoes back.
I have a female beagle right now who did the same thing, I had bred her 3 straight times, and now her body will pretend that she is pregnant. Like Joeyman said, She will get a little bigger and produce milk. The girl is an alwesome momma that really takes great care of pups, even if they aren't hers. I guess she wants pups so bad she has to still go through the motions.
