Re: Divorce
yea the government that governs best governs least. Been along since a president has ask not what your country can do for you but what YOU can do for your country.People like being take care of,you can see it in this nation. This government has all the votes it needs to do what it wants with health care the town halls are just a "pretense", this party did run on change and that is just what about to take place. I would rather see this government put a cap on malpratice suits, that would so help bring down insurance cost, but waite didnt lawyers have a huge part in getting this party into power and makin money is what it is all about.
I lost what little hope i had for this president when he himself played the race card, even when he himself said i dont know all the facts and still made that dumbs=ass statement.A TRUE LEADER WOULD HAD NEVER DONE THAT.I think he just likes to hear himself speak, rattles on at the mouth about how much money he and wife have and how she has great medical insurance.well just a little fyi for them we all die, mr jackson payed a doctor 150 thousand a month and still ended up taken a dirt nap.

Re: Divorce
I dont look at the President when it comes to the changes in this nation as much as I do congress. The President is a public spokesperson for the health care plan but congress is the one that has to pass it. The only reason that they have not passed it is because some of the democratic party does not believe in it.
I do believe in all americans getting the health coverage they need by keeping the cost to a minimum and the only way that this is going to happen is with government oversight but I dont believe in government control.

I don't believe in government control either. Every time our government passes another law it seems to take away our freedom.
Health care is expensive because of malpractice lawsuits that are out of this world, maybe if there was a limitation in place we would not be in the situation we are in. Medicine research is very expensive, extra and extensive research to pass federal regulation has not helped those costs. Hospital absorbing the cost from the uninsured, including health care to illegal immigrants, is another huge problem, but with the track record the U.S. Government running any organization is not good.
Health care regulation Maybe!!!!!!!!
Health Care Reform........ Will fail and destroy America finacially.

Re: Divorce
2500 if you look at the numbers you will see that our neighbor to the north runs about 11% of its debt to health care and france runs about 9% to its health care (both countries have national health care) now when you compair that to our 17 % and not having health insurance for everyone then something is wrong. We do have the best health care treatment facilities and doctors in the world but we also pay more in tax dollars for health care than other countries that have social insurance. One more thing that must be talked about on this topic is that people live longer in both of these countries than in the United States. What is wrong with this picture, we spend more on health care, more on drugs, more on doctors, more on facilities for the sick, but still die quicker?
One thing that I see as a growing problem is that people rush to go to the hospital or the doctor for having a cold or a slight fever, we are useing our emergency rooms for taking out splinters and treating the flu instead of using them for true emergencies. We abuse the health care system and that makes the cost of insurance ski high.
I would like to see a figure from the health insurance compaines on how much money is spent on hospital visits that are not true emergencies, how many billions of dollars in claims are out there when there was no need. You take this number and combine it with a 30% operating cost of the insurance companies and we can see how much we could reduce the cost of health insurance in this country.
Our government needs to step up and say yes we are going to have a major overhall in the health care system in the United States and if you abuse this system then we are going to charge you (before you are treated). If you have a major illness or injury we will take care of that with a small (set limit) out of your pocket. We are going to provide the best health coverage, the best doctors, the best facilities without charging you an arm and a leg.

You have a lot of faults in your statement.........Emergency rooms are abused by the people that do not have insurance, seldom from the people that have insurance...... The people with insurance are charged more to cover the uninsured...... Hospitals cannot choose who they can and cannot treat that come to the emergency room, they must treat them all..... leagal citizens and illegal immigrants. Insurance companies procces alot of emergency room claims from the people that go to the walk In clinics and wait 2-5 hrs to be treated because non insured patients in the ER come first... Doesn't take people long to say I'm not waiting for care for my child with a 103* temp. for 4 hrs to see a Dr. ER's are deffinately abbused, but mainly because of the non insured/illeagal patient.old blood beagles wrote:2500 if you look at the numbers you will see that our neighbor to the north runs about 11% of its debt to health care and france runs about 9% to its health care (both countries have national health care) now when you compair that to our 17 % and not having health insurance for everyone then something is wrong. Our government needs to step up for the U.S. citizen and crack down on illegal immigrants.
By the way Canadians that have a few extra $$$$ flock to the hospitals in Detroit & Port Huron to get health care because they cannot receive the treatment they need in a timely manner.... But no one thinks that is a reallity. They don't get to choose their doctor and are treated according to when they got in line, not how severe their condition is, and if you got in line at noon, and are still in line at 4:30 pm. sorry about your luck Dr. went home, comeback tomorrow and get back in line.
Bet most of you wouldn't appreciate that.

Re: Divorce
2500, I did not post on here to defend the President, I came on here because there is problem with our national helath care. The old system has worked just fine for those that can pay 550 a month for a health insurance plan, but for the more common man 550 is just to high of a cost. You said it best we pay for those that are underinsured or noninsured; with that being said I would rather my tax dollar go to a plan that my family and I can use instead of paying for that illigal immigrant.

Re: Divorce
Old blood I agree we need healthcare reform but there is NO way the country can provide healthcare for 50 million more people without either the cost going dramatically up for the ones who are already insured or the care going dramatically down for everyone. A government healthcare system will ration care and probably for the people who need it the most.
The government should use regulation but not take over the system.

Re: Divorce
Rabbithound, I dont know what the answer is and I do agree that I dont like the thought of the government taking over the healthcare system. I have looked at the numbers and the overall cost of healthinsurance here in the United States is much higher than in countries that have a social insurance program and like I stated earlier the individuals in the other countries have a longer life span then we do.
I do agree with 2500 that something needs to be done with all the illegal immigrants, and dead beats that are dragging down our health care facilities and driving up the cost of insurance premimums but with a universal insurance plan there would be guidlines for everyone including the dead beats and immigrants.

Re: Divorce
One more thing we are already providing insurance for the 50 million unisured people by the way of our tax dollars. We are already providing the same health care, in the same health care facilities, with the same doctors, the same medication but without a cost to them. If we set a new tax that everyone has to pay then this would put more money into the system and would reduce the cost of insurance premimums thus saving us money out of our pockets.
This is nothing more than a large insurance group plan. If you try to buy insurance on your own it will cost you 3 times as much as if you try to buy insurance under a group policy. It is the same insurance but with more people to contribute to the policy the less it cost per person.
Let me say this agian, I do not like the current plan posed by President Obama but it is better than what we have now. If a universal plan is going to come into effect then the people on the hill need to get off their AZZ put party lines to the side and do what is best for all of us.

Re: Divorce
Health care reform and Obama's socialist plans are two different things. I don't trust Obama as far as i could throw him and he is the most arrogant and unqualified president to ever hold the office. Everytime i hear him speak my blood boils. He is a SOCIALIST! Better yet...a facist!!!

Re: Divorce
If I could change one major thing on the hill, it would be that when a bill is introduced it would not have a name on it or a party connected to it. Have a box of new introduced bills on the floor and make it an ethics violation for the person introducing the bill to state they introduced it. I believe that if the individuals on the hill would take out the politics then this country would be ran alot better.
There has been alot of bills introduced and passed because of the pork barrel spending. I will vote yes on your bill if you vote yes on mine kind of thing.
Obama is only a spokesperson, he cannot control what comes into effect. Obama might be a socialist or even a facist but even if that is the case then everbody that sits on congress would also have to socialist of facist and it is our fault for putting them in there.

Re: Divorce
First I have to say I don't think the current plan is better than what we have now even though I think what we have now needs improving. I think it will ration healthcare for everyone and the seniors in particularly and they probably need it the most. It only makes common sence to me that either my costs are going up or my care and availibilty to treatment are going down. Second I pay enough taxes already, if some regulation on malpractice lawsuits against hospitals and doctors were put in place maybe costs would drop across the board but since most of our legislaters are lawyers I don't think your going to see that happen. I certainly don't know all the answers but I know there are a lot of hidden expenditures in operating a buisness and you can only survive by being prepared for what you don't expect. Hospitals, doctors and even the drug companies and insurance companies have to be prepared for lawsuits and claims they didn't forsee and I'm not saying their profit margin isn't larger than it needs to be, it probably is but what would you do if you didn't have them at all.
I agree with your last post, accountability I am all for that. Obama will be the one the sign the bill into law so he is a little more than just a spokeperson, he does have the final say.
