Rabbithound, I agree about paying to much in taxes already but since I have to pay them let me and my family get some of the benefits. The % that I used came for a conservative congressman and he to aslo stated that way to much of our tax dollar goes to healthcare right now and that if we were able to come up with a plan that is compairable to that of france or canada then he would be all for it.
When more people chip in and help pay for something then the price goes down just like group insurance. The other thing about the medical companies is how can they sale the same drug in mexico or canada or england for 1/4 the price that I have to pay for it here in the United States. It seems to me that no matter where that drug is sold at it cost the same to make and it should cost less where it is made at, but the medical companies are able to charge the insurance companies for for it here in the states because they can and in other countries they cant because of regulations.

I like a good debate and I agree with everything you said except the canada and france healthcare model. Their healthcare is rationed and sometimes treatment is a long wait and when they want quality healthcare and can afford it, they come here.

You did hit on one exellent point that I have been saying for a while, regulation not government control is what we need. Legislation that regulates all of the cost drivers.

We have the best technolgy, the best doctors but the cost is too much and their are many factors driving that and who's to say if we go to socailized medicine are we then going to close the borders because if we don't the numbers who take advantage of it could be a lot more than what is thought now.

I still go back to where is the money coming from.

James don't you know that the money is coming from the oboma money factory he installed in the west wing right next to bo jangos. Nothing this cat has done is being thought out just throw it out there see what you get. how about the 3 billion for cash for clunkers we have to pay back for others who have brought cars on our dime, where does it says in the bill of rights you are I have to pay for others peoples autos, not to mention the harm its doing to the smaller used car dealer and wholesale parts dealers, and private charities in this country. Glad to see the dems back off buying their private planes for senior congressman to fly back and forth to washington. They were going to rob the armed forces for that money. I will leave the health care crap alone ( because he said on national tv that we would get the same health care as him and all our elected officials) yeap thats what he said.Just like acorn now he is busing in people to his town hall meetings to make himself look good, what a mess we are in. maybe if I get arrested I can go to washington and have a beer, Make mine a root beer sir real beer makes some people stupid!!!!!

Dave I tell you buddy if it puts government in charge and takes away from my freedom, the response will always be NO from me. Elected officials are in office to do the work of the people NOT overpower the people. Politicians work for us but if they keep grabbing power we will be under the government thumb.

Instead of giving them more power we should be giving them the almighty boot as soon as possible.

I find it interesting that the issue has BECOME health care instead of JOBS.

Who's going to pay for all these great health care for the poor programs? The unemployed? You do realize as unemployment hits record levels that will add to those who need the working people to pay for their health care. With less people working, those who are working will have to pay more to cover the cost of those not working. The economy continues to tank and instead of spending time trying to fix it, the focus shifts to something else to pay for.

These liberal government officials keep trying to get us to focus on the need to fix the private sector but think about it for even a little bit and you'll realize it's the government that needs reorganized and taken over. The Obamanation has made this a battle between government and business. Is that what America is about? The Obamanation is saying that government knows better how to run industries than the industries themselves.

It is very interesting indeed that we didn't have a healthcare crisis when the economy was good. Is it possible the best improvement to the healthcare crisis would be a booming economy where more people had JOBS?
