First and foremost it is about fun. Sometimes this gets watered down but try to keep it in mind. (METRIC) I think this was the key to Big Dog's whole point. :D Have fun and keep'em runnin. cya Paul

Hey, you guys need to quit talking about this. I know who has the "spanking the other dogs" power and it is right in my back yard. I live in Indiana, so Indiana wins. I'll leave it to you all to decide who is second place. :) *Brian*

I'll say NEW YORK because thats where I am from and no one else has mentioned it. But there are a lot of great dogs where ever you have dedicated hunters.

The reason no one from the northeast has posted, is because its a loose loose question. Each registry is predominant in different parts of the country. If you look at the AKC large pack on hare or spo its usually a dog from the north with the ribbon. If you look at ARHA, its usually a dog from the midwest, UKC, NKC, ect ect... So to asked wich state turns out the best dogs is a question with an impossible answer.

i am going to take a stab at this question and say, every type of dog runs a different rabbit. I could take my lp dogs and run down in kentucky and they may not perform well, you take your dogs up here and run some mountain snow shoe hare and they may not perform well. you are running two different rabbits with two different running styles. how can you say that superior dogs come from kentucky. many of your kentucky dog's pedigrees date back to the northeast and canada dogs. looks like we must have some good dogs or else you would not have the northeast breeding...... pendulum can swing either way guess if your bloodline is performing, then you can't ask for more than what you got in your back yard. Im satisfied with what i got.

What state has the power????

Post by Richard G »

Guess I will have to say that the power is in the states that have snow hound. We are fortunate enough to have cotton tail and hare in Vermont. We can run cotton tail in 90 degrees and run the snowshoe in below 0 weather. Can the Kentucky or Tenn. hounds run in three feet of snow below 0 on two week old snow? Bring your hounds up this winter and find out. ;)

The question can always be reversed. Can the northern hounds track a swamp rabbit in the swamps when it's 90 degrees and the humidity is 100%? ;)

If you are speaking in terms of power as a part of there running style I would say Michigan.
