Climategate: Gore falsifies the record

Al Gore has studied the Climategate emails with his typically rigorous eye and dismissed them as mere piffle:

Q: How damaging to your argument was the disclosure of e-mails from the Climate Research Unit at East Anglia University?

A: To paraphrase Shakespeare, it’s sound and fury signifying nothing. I haven’t read all the e-mails, but the most recent one is more than 10 years old. These private exchanges between these scientists do not in any way cause any question about the scientific consensus.

And in case you think that was a mere slip of the tongue:


Q: There is a sense in these e-mails, though, that data was hidden and hoarded, which is the opposite of the case you make [in your book] about having an open and fair debate.

A: I think it’s been taken wildly out of context. The discussion you’re referring to was about two papers that two of these scientists felt shouldn’t be accepted as part of the IPCC report. Both of them, in fact, were included, referenced, and discussed. So an e-mail exchange more than 10 years ago including somebody’s opinion that a particular study isn’t any good is one thing, but the fact that the study ended up being included and discussed anyway is a more powerful comment on what the result of the scientific process really is.

These people are examining what they can or should do to deal with the P.R. dimensions of this, but where the scientific consensus is concerned, it’s completely unchanged. What we’re seeing is a set of changes worldwide that just make this discussion over 10-year-old e-mails kind of silly.

In fact, as Watts Up With That shows, one Climategate email was from just two months ago. The most recent was sent on November 12 - just a month ago. The emails which have Tom Wigley seeming (to me) to choke on the deceit are all from this year. Phil Jones’ infamous email urging other Climategate scientists to delete emails is from last year.

How closely did Gore read these emails? Did he actually read any at all? Was he lying or just terribly mistaken? What else has he got wrong?

Actually the e-mail archives are named by Unix timestamp, ranging from Thu, 07 Mar 1996 14:41:07 GMT through to Thu, 12 Nov 2009 19:17:44 GMT. This is a strong indicator they are extracted from an enterprise archive, probably by the FOIA Compliance Officer and not hacked from individual’s workstations.

The Earth constantly warms and cools over time. No one can stop it and no one knows the reason. There are a lot of theories. Would you like to explain one of those theories.

If you don't believe it's a money grab, why are so many leaders of third world countries screaming. They want the darn money. Those peasants and sheep herders that make up their population will not see any of it.

Climatological Cassandras are becoming increasingly apprehensive, for the weather aberrations they are studying may be the harbinger of another ice age.

Man, too, may be somewhat responsible for the cooling trend. The University of Wisconsin's Reid A. Bryson and other climatologists suggest that dust and other particles released into the atmosphere as a result of farming and fuel burning may be blocking more and more sunlight from reaching and heating the surface of the earth

When you watch the evening news/weather, they usually have a figure, record temp for that date in history. Pay attention to the number of times that the record heat for that date is a hundred years ago and the record cold temp for that date is more recent. If we are on the brink of extinction, shouldn't all the record heat dates be in the last ten years and the record cold dates be a hundred years ago, at the start of the industrial recolution?

Rufus, if the foks telling you that we are causing the planet to overheat, are telling the truth, why do they have to lie and distort the facts. About fifteen years ago, I watched a documentary on PBS that had a group of scientists with their graphs, charts, and data, predicting the melting of the ice cap, stopping of the gulf stream, and flooding of all the low lieing coastal plains . Just like you, I was alarmed and was thinking, darn we need to do someting and fast. A few moths later, I was watching some program, probably C-Span. A Professor of Meterology from the University of Virginia, mentioned that there was an international gathering of climatologists in Europe. They had presented the data and all the findings that were available. At the end of the meeeting there was no consensus of whether the earth was cooling or warming and decided that is didn't matter because man was incapable of doing anything about it. Then he mentioned that a recording of this meeting was availble for PBS. Guess what, Senator Al Gore used his political influence to prevent the showing of this information on PBS. Ask yourself why, and then remember how rich Al Gore has become from the hype of Global warming.

Do you remember when Obama said that he would have the most open government in the history of the country. Recently he said that the Health Scare Bill would be put on C-Span for all Americans to see prior to its passing? He said that he would answer all questions line by line.
Has that happened?

Why don't they want us to know about Global Warming, Health Care, and where the Stimulus Money has been spent?

Think about the origin of the "Global Warming" concept. There was no consensus that there were facts to back up the idea of "Global Warming". The facts have not changed. No one was going to make a profit if there was no "Global Warming". However, there could be a profit if there was "Global Warming". Can you even imagine the total amount of just TAX money that has been spent on "Global Warming"? That's money out of all of our pockets that was taken for the sole purpose of enriching the liberals. They made up a lie and started milking money out of all tax payers. The entire liberal message about Bush was that he "lied" while they continued this "whopper of a LIE" they called "Global Warming". Well, they used to call it "Global Warming" but changed that to "Climate Change" anyone want to guess why they changed it? If the facts about "Global Warming" didn't change, then why did they change what they call it?

Can the liberals still be viewed as credible in anything? Some of you all jumped on the bandwagon with their "Bush Lied" slogan. Really!?! Decades of perpetuating a lie that they had to willingly cover up and still are attempting to cover up takes away their credibility when it comes to declaring who is truthful and who is lying.

These are the same people who say we are in a healthcare crisis and they can fix it. I guess they "fixed" "Global Warming"/"Climate Change" since neither one actually exist anymore, why not have them "fix" healthcare.

This same thing was being discussed in the Senate the other night and to get to the bottom of it, the global warming committee is comprised of un-elected officials vying for world power. It is the same as the URO group. They are trying to get the President to sign a treaty to hand over his National Power so that they can dictate to all countries how they are going to govern the energy of all Nations. This is NATO deal it is a bad deal. Most of those officials are self appointed thugs from third world countries. The Senator that spoke on this was very well versed on what was going on and he was begging them to wake up before it was to late. If this is signed we loose our power as a nation and hand it over to that conglomeration of thugs. This isn't just a small thing. He brought up the fact of the farce that had pushed the agenda. So it wasn't just the lining in Al Gores pocket that is on fire there is more at steak then the local economy and energy it is a world power play.

The American public should demand STOP the SPENDING! If you don't have the capitol or the cash in the bank how long can you spend money and not get cut off at the bank? Not to long.
